Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may manage a shape of a beam to selectively reduce interference at one or more wireless nodes. The base station may receive a capability message from a first wireless node indicating a capability of the first wireless node to support one or more beam tapering configurations. In some cases, the base station may receive an interference report from a second wireless node, indicating that the first wireless node caused interference at the second wireless node. The base station may transmit a beam tapering configuration of the one or more beam tapering configurations to the first wireless node, and the first wireless node may transmit a beamformed message to the base station according to the beam tapering configuration. In some cases, the beam tapering configuration may be associated with less interference when transmitting the beamformed message.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for frequency-based predistortion signal generation. In an example aspect, the apparatus includes a predistortion linearizer circuit configured to be coupled to an input of an amplifier. The amplifier has non-linearities associated with multiple frequencies. The multiple frequencies include a first subset of frequencies and a second subset of frequencies. The predistortion linearizer circuit is also configured to accept an input signal. The predistortion linearizer circuit is additionally configured to generate, based on the input signal, a compensation signal to attenuate the non-linearities existing within the first subset of frequencies more than the non-linearities existing within the second subset of frequencies. The predistortion linearizer circuit is further configured to generate a pre-distorted signal based on the input signal and the compensation signal.

A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, one or more downlink grants scheduling one or more corresponding downlink transmissions from the base station to the UE. In some examples, the UE may enter a state of sleep prior to receiving the one or more downlink transmissions. In such examples, the UE may wake up from the state of sleep at a first time that is at least a threshold period of time before a second time corresponding to a beginning of the one or more downlink transmissions. After waking up from the state of sleep, the UE may activate a notch filter and use the activated notch filter to filter a spur generated at the UE. The UE may receive the one or more downlink transmissions with improved reliability based on activating the notch filter.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive signaling from a base station and may pass the signaling through one or more low noise amplifiers (LNAs) at a receiver of the UE. The UE may determine a saturation threshold at the one or more LNAs is exceeded. The UE may transmit an indication to the base station that the saturation threshold is exceeded. The base station may send additional signaling to the UE whose content, schedule, or configuration is responsive to the indication that the saturation threshold is exceeded. The UE may process the additional signaling using a digital linearizer at a receive chain of the UE. A base station may indicate an LNA saturation state to a UE in advance. The UE may respond to the indication (e.g., by setting LNA and digital linearizer states to accommodate predicted saturation).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify conditions associated with one or more physical channels, for example, a set of resources with which the UE may be configured to communicate with a base station. The UE may determine whether to enable a reduced power mode based on the conditions satisfying certain criteria, for example, the set of resources corresponding allocated for particular transmissions. The UE may identify that the conditions satisfy corresponding criteria, and the UE may determine to enable the reduced power mode. The UE may accordingly modify operations one or more components of a receive chain of the UE. The UE may determine to disable the reduced power mode based on the conditions failing to satisfy the criteria, and the UE may modify operations of the one or more components of the receive chain accordingly.
