Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a wireless communications system may support short reference signals for sidelink communication. A transmitting user equipment (UE) and a receiving UE may receive, from a base station, configuration signaling that indicates a set of sidelink resources that includes a set of slots within a subcarrier. A subset of the slots may include a first set of symbols allocated to a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) and a second set of symbols allocated to a reference signal, where the first set of symbols comes before the second set of symbols in a time domain. The transmitting UE may transmit, to the receiving UE, a reference signal over the second set of symbols and the receiving UE may utilize the reference signal to decode data message received from the transmitting UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A target user equipment (UE) may communicate (e.g., transmit, receive) a message indicating a relay UE for relaying wireless communications between the target UE and a base station. The relay UE is selected from a set of candidate relay UEs based on existing sidelink relay communication links at the relay UE, candidate target UEs associated with the relay UE, existing communication sidelinks between the target UE and the candidate relay UEs, or any combination thereof. The target UE may receive a first control signal indicating a sidelink relay communication link for communicating messages between the first UE and the base station via the relay UE, and receive a second control signal activating the sidelink relay communication link. The target UE may then communicate a message to or from the base station via the relay UE and the sidelink relay communication link.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A receiving user equipment (UE) may broadcast messages containing inter-UE cooperation (IUC) information using multiple beams. The IUC information transmitted on each beam may be different for each beam of the receiving UE. For example, each IUC information may contain different preferred resources or non-preferred resources for the receiving UE to receive a transmission from a transmitting UE. The transmitting UE may receive a message containing IUC information from one of the beams of the receiving UE and transmit a signal using resources based on the IUC information contained in the received message. In some examples, the transmitting UE may transmit a channel busy ratio (CBR) request to a receiving UE. The CBR request may specify a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state, spatial relation, spatial domain filter, or beam according to which the receiving UE is to measure the CBR.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for identification reinterpretation in sidelink control information (SCI) are described. A first user equipment (UE) may transmit to a second UE or device, on a sidelink channel, SCI. The SCI may include a partial source and destination identifier fields and may indicate to the second UE to apply a first interpretation of multiple different interpretations for the partial source identifier field and the partial destination identifier field. The UE may transmit a medium access control (MAC) packet including a MAC header with identifier fields set to be complementary to the SCI.

The apparatus may be further configured to generate, based on the measurement information, first predicted information, wherein the first predicted information corresponds to at least one beam with which to communicate with the base station. The apparatus may be further configured to determine, based on the first predicted information, that one or more conditions are satisfied. The apparatus may be further configured to transmit, to the base station based on the determination, a first report including second predicted information, wherein the second predicted information includes the first predicted information or the second predicted information is a subset of the first predicted information.
