Abstract:
An aircraft loader having bridge and main elevators is provided with pivotally mounted trays at the rearward end of the bridge elevator. The trays serve as transit means for the passage of load units between the two elevators both when the two elevators are level and when they are out of level to a degree. The trays function also as part of a level control system whereby the levels of the main elevator and trays tend to be adjusted to match the level of the bridge elevator.
Abstract:
An apparatus for locking an inner telescoping member into a desired position within an outer telescoping member or sleeve. A locking mechanism is carried by the inner telescoping member and includes locking pins supported for motion between respective retracted positions and respective extended positions engaging detents in the outer telescoping member. A synchronizing ring is operatively connected to the locking pins such that synchronizing ring rotation moves the locking pins between the locking pins' respective retracted and extended positions.
Abstract:
Presented is an automated fastener feed system for feeding fastener elements such as threaded studs and nuts to a utilization device such as a press. The system includes a vibratory bowl into which the fastener devices are placed in an unoriented mass, and from which the fastener devices are fed into an orientation module that orients the fastener devices into the proper orientation to be delivered to the utilization device. Between the utilization device and the orientation module is a singulator module that receives the fastener devices, properly oriented, from the orientation device, and propels the fastener devices, either singly under manual operation, or continually under automatic operation, to the utilization device. A combination of pneumatic and electrical controls are utilized to control operation of the system.

Abstract:
Presented is a hardware insertion press of the type for insertion of fasteners in sheet metal. The press incorporates both operator and tool protection systems that prevent the operator from being injured during use of the press, and which prevent the tool from being damaged by misalignment of a fastener in relation to the workpiece to which the fastener is intended to be fastened. For operator safety, the press is equipped so that the ram will retract if the tool encounters a part of the operator's body, such as a hand or finger. For tool protection the press incorporates mechanisms that define the press "window" so that a misaligned fastener encountered out of the range of the press window will cause the ram to be interrupted in its movement. The press also incorporates a lower tool mounting structure that accommodates vibration of the press, and which may be adjusted to quickly and easily align or intentionally misalign the upper and lower tooling, and for enabling removal and precise positional replacement of the lower tooling in its original position.
Abstract:
An improved wheel and bearing assembly for a load transporting overhead trolley with a load support bracket having opposed stems mounting laterally offset wheels in rolling engagement with an overhead track has wheel-incorporated radially inner and outer race members with anti-friction load bearing balls between them in an annular trackway. The radially inner race member is split offset from the line connecting the center of the balls and formed of mating laterally outer and laterally inner abutting members which have laterally mating non-compressible radially abutting surfaces with radially aligned annular grooves therein. A circumferentially compressible retention spring is carried in one of the annular grooves and resiliently projects radially from the groove so that a snap fit is achieved when the inner race members are moved relatively laterally into mating assembly.
