Abstract: A conveying device has an accumulation area for accumulating objects, and an operating method operates the conveying device. Using a measuring device, the object rear edge of a first object and the object front edge of a second object which follows the first object are detected. The position of the objects is determined using rotation signals from the drives of conveyor elements. For the second object, a continuous curve of a speed reduction of a target speed is calculated, wherein the calculated stop position of the object front edge of the second object is located at the position of the object rear edge of the stopped first object, or between the object front edge of the stopped first object and the object rear edge of the stopped first object. Subsequently, the second object is moved and stopped using the conveyor elements on the basis of the calculated speed reduction.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a rod belt for rod belt conveyors of agricultural machines comprising rods (5) arranged transverse to the direction of transport and parallel to each other, the rods (5) comprising flattened and perforated attachment areas (5.1) by means of which they lie in contact with elastic belts (2) of high tensile strength revolving parallel to each other and being connected to the belts (2) via rivets or similar attachment means penetrating the attachment area (5.1) and the belt (2), both ends (9) of which belt constituting a joint (8). It is the object of the invention to provide a rod belt of this type having an endless connection of high stability while, at the same time, being easy to disassemble and mount. This task is solved according to the invention in that an auxiliary belt section (7) each is arranged laterally adjacent to the belts (2), the auxiliary belt section bridges the joint (8) between the belt ends (9) whereby the belts (2) and the auxiliary belt sections (7) are interlocked by means of the rods (5).
