    Abstract: An electronic device and method for delivery of extended emergency notifications through sensory feedback is provided. The electronic device receives a signal from an Emergency Alert System (EAS) that includes one or more of a broadcast system or an Internet-based system. The electronic device extracts emergency information from the received signal. Thereafter, the electronic device determines an external device that is communicatively coupled to the electronic device. The electronic device controls the external device to generate a type of sensory feedback that corresponds to an emergency alert. The type of sensory feedback is generated based on at least a portion of the emergency information.

    Abstract: Provided is an electronic device that captures a first image of a user. The electronic device determines a position of eye gaze of the user on a first UI element of a plurality of UI elements displayed on a first display screen of the electronic device, based on the first image. The electronic device selects the first UI element based on a determination of the position of the eye gaze on the first UI element for a time interval. The electronic device transmits a first control signal to a media display device, based on the selection of the first UI element.     Abstract: An apparatus is provided for disinfection of an object. The apparatus includes a rotatable platform, a reflective surface on the rotatable platform, and a transmissive base to carry the object. The apparatus acquires information associated with the object, which includes one of a size of the object, a relative position, or an angular orientation of the object with respect to an ultraviolet light source. The apparatus determines one or more control parameters based on the acquired information, which includes one of a distance between the transmissive base and the reflective surface, a time period, or a speed of rotation of the rotatable platform. Based on the one or more control parameters, the apparatus controls a movement of the transmissive base and the rotation of the rotatable platform, to cause the reflective surface to reflect an ultraviolet light emitted by the ultraviolet light source onto the object, via the transmissive base.

    Abstract: An electronic device and method for real-time verification of Caller IDs for live-human and robot call filtering is provided. A first electronic device receives an incoming first call from a second electronic device associated with a Caller identification (ID). The first electronic device transmits a verification text message to the second electronic device using the Caller ID, while the first call is still incoming. The first electronic device receives a response to the verification text message and compares the received response with a pre-defined response. If the response is correct and received within a predefined time, the first electronic device allows the call to connect. If a correct response is received beyond the predefined time, the Caller ID is added to a whitelist so that a next call from the same Caller ID is received automatically. In such case, the current first call is redirected to a voicemail system.

The circuitry is communicatively coupled to an imaging apparatus and a rendering device that plays content. The circuitry acquires, from the imaging apparatus, one or more images of a user of the electronic device and a physical space associated with the user. The circuitry detects a lip movement of the user based on the acquired one or more images. The circuitry determines whether the user is in a conversation based on the detected lip movement of the user. The circuitry controls playback of the content on the rendering device based on the determination.
