Abstract: A method includes configuring one or multiple pools of Device-to-Device (D2D) communication resources by an eNodeB (eNB), signaling of the configured pool(s) of D2D communication resources by the eNB to a first User Equipment (UE) and a plurality of UEs using a common broadcast channel; sending a request for one or multiple D2D communication resources to an eNB by the first UE configured to transmit D2D messages; determining one or multiple resources for D2D communication by an eNB for the first UE; communicating D2D resource allocation information to the first UE; communicating D2D resource allocation information by the first UE to multiple UEs; and transmitting D2D data by the first UE to multiple UEs. Methods for configuring and signaling D2D communication resources by relay or out-of-coverage UEs are also considered.

Abstract: A method for listen-before-talk (LBT) operation by an eNodeB (eNB) in a wireless communication network is provided. The method includes triggering an LBT request to transmit, to a user equipment (UE), at least one of an uplink (UL) grant or downlink (DL) data for UL transmission over an licensed assisted access (LAA), determining an adaptive contention window (CW) size includes a predetermined minimum value and maximum value for transmitting the DL data and UL grant, performing DL data and UL grant LBT operations in accordance with the adaptive CW size, performing a UL grant LBT operation that includes a higher priority than the DL data regardless of a level of quality of service (QoS) of the DL data to transmit a UL grant message to the UE, and multiplexing the UL grant with the DL data, and transmitting the multiplexed UL grant with the DL data transmission to the UE.

Abstract: Coordinate multi-point (CoMP) transmission is facilitated by resolving collisions between feedback reporting. Based upon the conditions within the network, collision resolution may be by dropping a channel report during a subframe, multiplexing channel reports from a plurality of user equipment, compressing channel reports from a plurality of user equipment, and combined reporting, either through joint reports or by using carrier aggregation, for conditions between a user equipment and a plurality of transmission points. New signaling and reporting formats facilitate selection of a collision resolution suitable for current network conditions.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for beam-level radio resource management and mobility are provided. A user equipment (UE) includes a transceiver and at least one processor operably connected to the transceiver. The transceiver is further configured to transmit the measurement report. The RS resource configuration is associated with a radio resource unit.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) and base station (BS) in a wireless communication network. The UE includes a receiver configured to receive at least one semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration among a plurality of SPS configurations from a BS. Each of the SPS configurations configures the UE with a different periodicity of a sidelink transmission to be transmitted to another UE. The BS also includes a transmitter configured to transmit the selected at least one SPS configuration to the UE.
