Abstract: Accordingly the embodiments herein provide a method for dynamically controlling a TCP congestion window. The method includes estimating, by an electronic device 100, a real time available bandwidth for an available network. Further, the method includes deriving, by the electronic device 100, a dynamic congestion window control factor from the estimated real time available bandwidth. Further, the method includes modifying, by the electronic device 100, the congestion window based on the derived dynamic congestion window control factor. In an embodiment, the congestion window is modified by passing the real time available bandwidth information from a lower layer of a modem to a higher layer of a TCP Stack and adjusting the congestion window.

The system includes an evolved node B (eNB) with a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) adaptation layer that adds a header to the data packet.

Abstract: The embodiments herein achieve a method and a UE for enabling a transport layer optimization using a preemptive cross layer signaling. The method includes transmitting at least one information to the NR L2 receiver for the transport layer optimization for a data flow(s). The at least one information includes at least one of a configuration for requesting a buffer status of the NR L2 receiver, a policy to inspect data packets of the data flow(s), a configuration for enabling or disabling the transport layer optimization, a retransmission timeout (RTO) and a round trip time (RTT) of the data flow(s), an impending RTO value of the data flow(s) and a threshold value of a buffer size. Further, the method includes enabling the transport layer optimization based on the at least one information received from the NR L3 receiver to avoid receiving of duplicate data packets from a TCP sender.

The method comprises receiving protocol data units (PDUs) by receiving units, providing the received PDUs to processing units, processing the received PDUs by the processing units for extracting service data units (SDUs), providing the extracted SDUs to a sorting unit, processing the received SDUs by the sorting unit to derive one or more lists of sequentially contiguous SDUs, providing the derived lists of sequentially contiguous SDUs to a window processing unit, and processing the derived list of sequentially contiguous SDUs by the window processing unit for sending the in-sequence SDUs to a delivery unit.
