    Abstract: An electronic device for controlling a screen is provided. The electronic device includes a virtual keypad and a method for controlling same. The electronic device includes a first housing, a second housing disposed to be movable with respect to the first housing and overlapping at least a portion of the first housing, at least one motor configured to move the first housing or the second housing, memory storing one or more computer programs, one or more processors disposed inside the first housing or the second housing and communicatively coupled to the at least one motor and the memory, and a flexible display at least partially mounted on a surface of the second housing and at least partially exposed to an outside of the electronic device, wherein a portion of the flexible display is inserted into or drawn out of the first housing according to driving of the motor, wherein the one or more computer programs include computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors individually or collectively, cause the electronic device to display, on the flexible display, a first screen including at least one text input field in a state in which a portion of the second housing is inserted in the first housing, obtain a first user input to the at least one text input field, display, on the flexible display, a second screen including at least one virtual keypad based on obtaining the first user input, wherein the at least one virtual keypad overlaps a portion of the at least one text input field, and display, on the flexible display, a third screen different from the second screen, based on the at least one virtual keypad overlapping the portion of the at least one text input field.

    Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a flexible display and a processor operatively connected to the flexible display. The processor may be configured to estimate a size of a display region after a delay time elapses upon detecting that the size of the display region is changed, at a first time, to form a second frame at the estimated size of the display region, to identify the size of the display region at a second time when the second frame is completely formed, to obtain a first difference value that is a difference value between a size of the second frame and the size of the display region at the second time, to obtain a second difference value that is a difference value between a size of a first frame output to the display region at the second time and the size of the display region at the second time, to output the second frame in the display region of the flexible display when the first difference value is less than the second difference value, and to maintain an output of the first frame in the display region when the first difference value is not less than the second difference value.

    Abstract: A portable electronic device may include: a first housing; a second housing disposed to be slidable with respect to the first housing; a flexible display in which a display area of the display is contracted or extended on the basis of slide-in or slide-out driving of the second housing; a motor for generating driving force to slide the second housing; a driving circuit for driving the motor; and a processor(s). The processor(s) may: configure the display area of the flexible display as an activation area for displaying visual information; recognize that a consistency problem occurs in an application execution screen when switching from the slide-out state to the slide-in state on the basis of occurrence of a slide-in trigger for contraction of the activation area while displaying the application execution screen on the activation area in the slide-out state; and provide a user interface to allow extension of the activation area on the basis of the occurrence of the consistency problem.
