Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a controller trigger that includes an input surface configured to receive input based on movement of a finger of a user, the trigger having a range of motion along a trigger path. The apparatus further includes a mode selector configured to actuate movement of an intermediate switching component between a discrete-input mode and a variable-input mode. The intermediate switching component includes a moveable arm, and in the discrete input mode the moveable arm occupies at least a portion of the trigger path, thereby limiting the range of motion of the trigger; and in the variable input mode the moveable arm does not occupy the trigger path.
