Abstract: According to an aspect of the disclosure, a user equipment (UE) in a wireless network is provided. The UE comprises a processor; and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the UE to determine whether a trigger condition is detected or not; based on the trigger condition being not detected, select a cell among a plurality of cells for the UE in accordance with a signal quality; based on the trigger condition being detected, select a cell from at least one cell of low-band frequency category, the plurality of cells categorized into the low-band frequency category, a mid-band frequency category, and high-band frequency category; and camp to the cell or transmit, on a serving cell, a measurement report including a measurement result of the cell.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method, implemented in a User Equipment (UE) operating in Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) New Radio-Dual Connectivity (EN-DC), of adding a New Radio (NR) Secondary Node (SN) in EN-DC is disclosed. The method includes receiving, in response to a measurement report sent by the UE, configuration data associated with an NR cell. The method includes, ascertaining whether the configuration data comprises a pre-determined parameter indicative of a frequency-shift for dynamic spectrum sharing for an uplink. The method includes performing one of an addition of an NR SN corresponding to the NR cell or a transmission of a failure notification message to the MN, based upon determining that the pre-determined parameter indicative of the frequency-shift criteria for dynamic spectrum sharing for the uplink is absent or present in the configuration data.

Abstract: A method of managing inter Radio Access Technology (RAT) handover of a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, includes: detecting, by the UE, a communication session established via a higher priority RAT managed by a network; determining, by the UE, whether measurements related to a lower priority RAT is configured in the UE by the network; detecting, by the UE, a temperature of the UE, the temperature being reaching each of a plurality of pre-defined temperature levels, wherein the plurality of pre-defined temperature levels are lesser than a pre-defined maximum temperature level; and transmitting, by the UE, one or more requests to the network for performing inter RAT handover from the higher priority RAT to the lower priority RAT, based on the determined measurements and the detected communication session.

Abstract: A method, performed by a user equipment (UE), for prioritizing a secondary cell group (SCG) supported cell in dual connectivity is provided. The method includes detecting whether the SCG supported cell is called for with respect to a service that is triggered at the UE and detecting that a connection of the UE with the SCG supported cell is released in a case. Further, the method includes detecting whether the service that is triggered at the UE has ended and detecting, based on network configured SCG measurements, the SCG supported cell by using one or more unused new radio (NR) antennas of the UE. The method also includes identifying a master cell group supporting the detected SCG supported cell and switching from a master cell not supporting SCG to the identified master cell group supporting the detected SCG supported cell.
