Abstract: In an embodiment, a method, implemented in a User Equipment (UE) operating in Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) New Radio-Dual Connectivity (EN-DC), of adding a New Radio (NR) Secondary Node (SN) in EN-DC is disclosed. The method includes receiving, in response to a measurement report sent by the UE, configuration data associated with an NR cell. The method includes, ascertaining whether the configuration data comprises a pre-determined parameter indicative of a frequency-shift for dynamic spectrum sharing for an uplink. The method includes performing one of an addition of an NR SN corresponding to the NR cell or a transmission of a failure notification message to the MN, based upon determining that the pre-determined parameter indicative of the frequency-shift criteria for dynamic spectrum sharing for the uplink is absent or present in the configuration data.

Abstract: The present subject matter refers a method of cell selection and reselection. The method comprises detecting a plurality of neighboring cells and their associated plurality of cell capabilities while the UE, having an associated UE capability, is connected to a serving cell. A possible throughput for the plurality of neighbouring cells is determined based on the detected plurality of cell capability and UE capability. A first neighboring cell is selected from the plurality of neighboring cells based on the determined possible throughput.

Abstract: Methods and/or systems for power management by a user equipment (UE) in an uplink transmission. The method may include determining, whether feedback related to transmit power of the UE, from a network entity is available and determining a first transmit power of the UE based on the determination and at least one of a plurality of transmitting parameters associated with the UE, evaluating a first spectral efficiency of the UE upon transmitting data at the first transmit power in a predefined time duration, determining a plurality of second transmit power. The method may include evaluating a plurality of second spectral efficiencies and determining a maximum spectral efficiency among the first and the plurality of second spectral efficiencies and transmitting the data at final transmit power among the first and the second plurality of second spectral efficiencies, the final transmit power corresponds to the maximum spectral efficiency.

Abstract: Accordingly the embodiments herein provide a method for indication of change in multi-radio access technology (RAT) dual connectivity (MR-DC) capability of a user equipment (UE). The method includes detecting the change in the MR-DC capability of the UE, and identifying an operation mode of the UE, the operation mode being one of an idle mode and a connected mode. The method further comprises in response to the operation mode being the idle mode, detecting an event, checking a validity of the change in the MR-DC capability of the UE after detecting the event, and indicating the change in the MR-DC capability of the UE to the first network node based on a result of the check. Further the method comprises in response to the operation mode being the connected mode, identifying that UE-assistance information is configured by the first network node, and indicating the change in the MR-DC capability of the UE to the first network node based on the UE-assistance information.

Abstract: A method, performed by a user equipment (UE), for prioritizing a secondary cell group (SCG) supported cell in dual connectivity is provided. The method includes detecting whether the SCG supported cell is called for with respect to a service that is triggered at the UE and detecting that a connection of the UE with the SCG supported cell is released in a case. Further, the method includes detecting whether the service that is triggered at the UE has ended and detecting, based on network configured SCG measurements, the SCG supported cell by using one or more unused new radio (NR) antennas of the UE. The method also includes identifying a master cell group supporting the detected SCG supported cell and switching from a master cell not supporting SCG to the identified master cell group supporting the detected SCG supported cell.

A method for handling handover by a UE (400) is provided. The method includes determining, by User Equipment (UE), whether a measurement identity (ID) of a first neighboring cell and a measurement ID of a second neighboring cell are same. If the measurement ID of the first neighboring cell and the measurement ID of the second neighboring cell are different, the method includes prioritizing sending of a measurement report of the first neighboring cell over a measurement report of the second neighboring cell to a serving cell. If the measurement ID of the first neighboring cell and the measurement ID of the second neighboring cell are same, the method includes splitting a measurement report for the first neighboring cell and a measurement report of the second neighboring cell and sending the measurement report of the first neighboring cell before the measurement report of the second neighboring cell.

Abstract: A method for managing cell reselection by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes storing, at the UE, a set of allowed frequency bands supported by a first operator. The set of allowed frequency bands are determined based on a first set of frequency bands supported by the first operator, and a second set of frequency bands associated with a second operator and permitted for use by the first operator. The method includes decoding a first system information block (SIB) comprising frequency information and frequency band information associated with corresponding neighbouring cells. The method includes determining one or more relevant neighbouring cells based on the corresponding first SIB and the set of allowed frequency bands, and further, determining, based at least on cell measurements associated with the one or more relevant neighbouring cells, at least one of a neighbouring cell for reselection.
