    Abstract: A face detection-processing circuit includes a down-scaler, a face detection unit, a control unit and a down-scaling ratio controller. The down-scaler is configured to scale down a resolution of an input image including at least one subject person according to a down-scaling ratio to provide a first image. The face detection unit is configured to detect a face of the least one subject person in the first image and generate coordinate information on a region of the detected face part (face region). The control unit is configured to calculate a face detection index indicating a ratio of the face region to the first image based on the coordinate information to provide control signals based on the face detection index and a face detection signal indicating whether a face is detected. The down-scaling ratio controller is configured to adjust the down-scaling ratio in response to the control signal.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting a free page of a memory device, and a method and apparatus for decoding an error correction code by using the method and apparatus for detecting a free page are provided. Free page data read from the memory is converted into a converted codeword for inclusion as an element of an error correction code field. The converted codeword is compared to an initially set target codeword to detect an amount of non-identical bits. A page read from the memory is determined to be a free page when the amount of non-identical bits is equal to or less than an initially set threshold value.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving System Information (SI) of a femto base station in a wireless communication system are provided. In the method, an SI transmission point is determined using unique identification information of a femto base station itself and unique identification information of a macro base station with which the femto base station is associated. Each of user equipment and the macro base station generate a measurement gap pattern representing an SI reception point using the unique identification information of the femto base station and the unique identification information of the macro base station. SI is received from the femto base station according to the generated measurement gap pattern.
