    摘要: A method and system that enhances a service life of a battery is provided. The method includes values of a set of operational characteristics of a plurality of electrochemically active materials of at least one electrode of the battery. The set of operational characteristics include a voltage, a change in accumulated energy, a change in ohmic resistance, and a change in a rate of change in accumulated energy with respect to a rate of change in ohmic resistance. The values are compared with predefined values of the set of operational characteristics. A rate of depletion and a type of depletion of each of the plurality of electrochemically active materials are determined, and a range of the State of Charge, a range of the voltage, and a range of current to operate the battery for enhanced service life are determined.

    摘要: The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for accurately detecting an operating status of a battery in a battery system, where the method includes determining a charging profile of a battery in a battery system, identifying a constant voltage and a corresponding constant current in a charging cycle of the charging profile, estimating at least one of a decay constant or an internal resistance associated with the battery, using at least one of the constant voltage or the constant current, comparing the decay constant with a first threshold value or comparing the internal resistance with a second threshold value, and detecting an operating status of the battery to be faulty or healthy, based on the comparison.

The system determines whether a current capacity of the battery is greater than a predetermined threshold percentage of an original rated capacity of the battery, in response to initiation of a charging cycle of the battery being detected, controls the battery to be charged with a first voltage, in response to the current capacity of the battery being determined to be greater than the predetermined threshold percentage of the original rated capacity of the battery, and controls the battery to be charged with a second voltage, in response to the current capacity of the battery being determined to be less than or equal to the predetermined threshold percentage of the original rated capacity of the battery.

    摘要: Methods and electronic devices for estimating state of charge (SOC) of a battery pack. Various embodiments provide a model comprising an (electrical) equivalent circuit model, an electrochemical (thermal) model, and a (convective) thermal model. The model estimates parameters pertaining to each cell of the battery pack individually, and determines the variations in the values of the parameters among each of the cells of the battery pack. The parameters include capacity, temperature current, voltage, and SOC. The parameters are computed based on at current drawn by the battery pack, electrochemical parameters, thermal parameters, and cell internal and connection resistances of the individual cells. Various embodiments compute battery pack uptime, chargeable capacity of the battery pack and SOC of the battery pack, based on the values of the parameters.
