Abstract:
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a sensing circuit and a processor. The processor is configured to captures a plurality of authentication images through the sensing circuit during a specific time, select at least one first image from the authentication images, and perform an authentication based on the at least one first image.
Abstract:
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first control module including a normal module and a security module, and a second control module distinct from the first control module. The normal module sets a secure memory which the security module and the second control module access, and the security module determines validity of the set secure memory.
Abstract:
An electronic device that makes a payment with an external payment device includes a power module configured to power the electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a memory configured to store first payment information that accompanies a user authentication and second payment information that does not accompany the user authentication, a near-field wireless communication module configured to send the first payment information or the second payment information stored in the memory to the external payment device, and a processor configured to obtain power information of the power module, to set the memory such that the first payment information is sent to the external payment device if a value corresponding to the power information is greater than or equal to a power value, and to set the memory such that the second payment information is sent to the external payment device if the value corresponding to the power information is less than the power value.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for providing a connection between electronic devices using authentication based on biometric information are provided. The electronic device includes: a first communication circuit to support NFC; a second communication circuit to support non-NFC; a biometric sensor; a memory to store first authentication information corresponding to an external device; and a processor. The processor is configured to: acquire connection information related to a connection with the external device from the external device using the first communication circuit in response to NFC tagging between the electronic device and the external device; establish a communication connection with the external device using the second communication circuit based on at least the connection information; receive a request for authentication information from the external device in response to the communication connection being established; acquire biometric information corresponding to a user of the electronic device using the biometric sensor in response to the request; authenticate the user based on at least the biometric information; when the authenticating succeeds, generate second authentication information based on at least the first authentication information; and transmit the second authentication information to the external device.
Abstract:
An electronic device comprising: a near field communication (NFC) module; a magnetic stripe data transmission (MST) module; and at least one processor functionally coupled to the NFC module and the MST module, wherein the processor is configured to: select at least one of the NFC module or the MST module; and transmit payment information to an external device by using the selected module.
Abstract:
An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present disclosure may include at least one sensor module including a transmitter, a receiver, a secure memory for storing data obtained by the receiver, and a security control module for controlling the transmitter based on whether a target memory in which the obtained data is to be stored is the secure memory. In an example, the sensor may be a biometric sensor in which the transmitter transits an optical signal to a user's finger or iris or the like to authenticate the user. If malicious code attempting to defeat security is detected, so that the secure memory is not set up as the target memory, the security control module may control the transmitter by restricting transmission of signals.
Abstract:
A method for operating a portable terminal so as to reduce power consumption during the support of a communication service and a portable terminal supporting the same is provided. The method includes activating a Radio Frequency (RF) communication unit, downloading a part of data of predetermined contents through the RF communication unit, buffering the downloaded part of the data in a buffer so as to output the buffered downloaded part of the data, and executing an idle time for terminating or reducing a power supply of the RF communication unit when the downloading of the part of the data of the predetermined contents is completed.
