Abstract: An electronic device includes a processor and a memory functionally connected to the processor. The electronic device acquires user's biometric information through a biometric sensor, determines virtual biometric information corresponding to the acquired biometric information, and transmits the virtual biometric information to an external electronic device through communication circuitry. The electronic device may include the biometric sensor, the communication circuitry, and the memory may be electrically connected to the biometric sensor and the communication module and store instructions to be executed by the processor.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for managing a companion device, and an electronic device using the same, the electronic device comprising: a communication unit for connecting a communication channel with at least one first external electronic device; and at least one processor functionally connected with the communication unit, wherein the at least one processor requests, from the at least one first external electronic device, information (companion device authentication information) necessary for registering the at least one first external electronic device as a companion device of a second external electronic device, in response to the connection with the at least one first external electronic device, receives and stores the companion device authentication information, registers the electronic device as a companion device of the second external electronic device when the electronic device is connected with the second external electronic device, and transmits the stored companion device authentication information to the second external electronic device such that the at least one first external electronic device is registered as a companion device of the second external electronic device. Other various embodiments are possible.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for providing a connection between electronic devices using authentication based on biometric information are provided. The electronic device includes: a first communication circuit to support NFC; a second communication circuit to support non-NFC; a biometric sensor; a memory to store first authentication information corresponding to an external device; and a processor. The processor is configured to: acquire connection information related to a connection with the external device from the external device using the first communication circuit in response to NFC tagging between the electronic device and the external device; establish a communication connection with the external device using the second communication circuit based on at least the connection information; receive a request for authentication information from the external device in response to the communication connection being established; acquire biometric information corresponding to a user of the electronic device using the biometric sensor in response to the request; authenticate the user based on at least the biometric information; when the authenticating succeeds, generate second authentication information based on at least the first authentication information; and transmit the second authentication information to the external device.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a communication unit; a memory storing instructions; and a processor, coupled to the communication unit and memory, to execute instructions to determine, based on at least one of a state of the electronic device and a distance between the electronic device and a user, a value of specific absorption rate (SAR) corresponding to the value of SAR that corresponds to a power of the electronic device; determine, based on the SAR, an average SAR on a designated time interval; determine, in response to the average SAR being greater than a first designated value, a reference value limiting a maximum power of the electronic device; and transmit a signal based on the determined reference value through the communication unit, wherein the reference value includes a value obtained by subtracting a second designated value from a value of maximum output power of the electronic device.
