    Abstract: A carry case for an electronics-enabled eyewear device, such as smart glasses, has charging contacts that are movable relative to a storage chamber in which the eyewear device is receivable. The charging contacts are connected to a battery carried by the case for charging the eyewear device via contact coupling of the charging contacts to corresponding contact formations on an exterior of the eyewear device. The charging contacts are in some instances mounted on respective flexible walls defining opposite extremities of the storage chamber. The contact formations on the eyewear device are in some instances provided by hinge assemblies that couple respective temples to a frame of the eyewear device.

The waveguide can have a light in-coupling region formed along a peripheral edge of the waveguide, the light in-coupling region including a first surface with a first set of diffraction gratings, and a light exit region formed along a top surface of the waveguide, the light exit region including a second set of diffraction gratings. The first set of diffraction gratings can be configured to diffract light towards the second set of diffraction gratings, and the second set of diffraction gratings can be configured to diffract light towards the user's eye.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems for electronic wearable devices such as smart glasses are described. The wearable device can comprise a frame, an elongate temple and an articulated joint. The frame can define one or more optical element holders configured to hold respective optical elements for viewing by a user in a viewing direction. The temple can be moveably connected to the frame for holding the frame in position when the device is worn by the user. The articulated joint can connect the temple and the frame to permit movement of the temple relative to the frame between a wearable position in which the temple is generally aligned with the viewing direction, and a collapsed position in which the temple extends generally transversely to the viewing direction. The articulated joint can include a base foot fixed to the frame and oriented transversely to the viewing direction.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems and methods for electronic wearable devices such as smart glasses are described. According to one embodiment, a temple assembly forming part of the smart glasses is disclosed. The assembly can include a temple mechanical connection, a battery carrier, a battery, and a temple body. The temple mechanical connection is configured to form an articulated joint at a first longitudinal end portion thereof with a frame of the wearable electronic glasses. The battery carrier is rigidly attached to the temple mechanical connection at a second longitudinal end portion thereof. The battery is mounted on the battery carrier. The temple body comprises a plastics material, and is configured to house the battery and battery carrier and interface with the second longitudinal end portion of the temple mechanical connection. The battery and battery carrier are generally longitudinally aligned along a longitudinal extent of the temple body, and are configured to form at least part of a structural framework for the temple body.
