    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining detection thresholds of a CFAR detection system of a sensor observing an environment, the CFAR detection system being provided with an estimator adapted to determine an estimate of parameters related to noise affecting the sensor depending on parameters related to the environment, the method comprising the steps of:



    estimation of parameters related to noises, in order to obtain a parameter vector,
    computation of first detection thresholds so that, for all possible configurations of the parameter vector, the CFAR detection system operates at a predefined false alarm probability,
    characterization of estimation errors of the estimator, and
    correction of each first detection threshold in order to obtain second detection thresholds, the step of correcting taking into account the error parameters.
