    Abstract: Methods and systems to mount a shaft with a motor rotor are provided. The motor may include a plurality of permanent magnets embedded in a lamination stack of a rotor of the motor, which may run through the length of the lamination stack. The motor can include a shaft that may be coupled to the rotor in a center bore of the rotor. The shaft may be coupled to the rotor with a keyway. The shaft may be coupled to the rotor with a press fit. The shaft may be coupled to the rotor with a cold shrink fit. The motor may include a counter weight disposed on the shaft. The counter weight may help retain the shaft on the rotor. The embodiments as disclosed herein can help couple the shaft and rotor without using heat that may demagnetize the permanent magnets.

    Abstract: A heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system is disclosed. The HVACR system includes a refrigerant circuit. The refrigerant circuit includes a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device, and an evaporator fluidly connected. A controller is electronically connected to the compressor. The controller is configured to prevent the compressor from operating at a speed that is less than a minimum speed limit. A lubricant separator has an inlet fluidly connected between the compressor and the condenser and a plurality of outlets. A first of the plurality of outlets is fluidly connected to the condenser. A second of the plurality of outlets is fluidly connected to one or more components of the compressor to provide a lubricant to the one or more components.

    Abstract: This disclosure is directed to systems and methods for controlling compressor motors, particularly varying the operation parameters of the motor to provide heat to a lubricant of the motor. The operation parameters include one or more of a pulse width modulation switching frequency, a pulse width modulation frequency switching pattern, or a torque/amp ratio of a drive of the compressor. The efficiency of the motor may be reduced to provide heat, with the heat improving lubricant quality and drive efficiency, to increase an overall efficiency of compressor operations. Methods may include determining a lubricant quality, and determining operational parameters that improve lubricant quality.

    Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatuses for mounting a motor rotor to a shaft of a compressor are disclosed. The shaft can include a rib region that is configured to form a press fit or a transition fit with the rotor bore. An end of the shaft can also include a plurality of crenulations that can be expanded outwardly in a radial direction relative to a centerline of the shaft. After the rotor is mounted onto the shaft, the crenulations can be expanded to eliminate the clearance between the shaft and the rotor to form a press fit with the rotor bore.
