    摘要: A projection lens unit and a projection mirror unit are moved relative to an illumination optical system, between a first position where an image is projected in a shape that is longer along a direction of projection onto a projection plane and a second position where an image is projected in a shape that is longer along a direction perpendicular to the direction of projection onto the projection plane. When the projection lens unit and the projection mirror unit are located in the first position, a vertically long image is projected onto the projection plane (portrait display). In this state, when the projection lens unit and the projection mirror unit are moved to the second position, a horizontally long image is projected onto the projection plane (landscape display).

    摘要: Modulated light (image light) which has been modulated by passing through a liquid crystal display panel passes through an apical angle variable prism (so-called, a vari-angle prism) and then is enlarged and projected by a projection lens. The apical angle variable prism is configured to change the prism apical angle with, for example, an electromagnetic actuator. The microcomputer calculates a projection optical axis correction value based on hand shake detection signals from a sensor and controls the aforementioned actuator based on the correction value. With this control, shakes of projected images due to hand shakes are prevented.

A mixing mirror transmits white light emitted from a main light source and reflects light emitted from the auxiliary light source, and mixes the white light and the auxiliary light respectively emitted from both the light sources and introduces the mixed lights into the pair of fly's eye lenses.

Each unit for projecting image-light is formed of an LED array, a rod integrator, a liquid crystal display panel, and a projection lens. A projection optical axis of the projection lens of each unit for projecting image-light is parallel each other. A unit for projecting image light in red is provided with an LED array for emitting light of a wavelength band in red, a unit for projecting image light in green is provided with an LED array for emitting light of a wavelength band in green, and a unit for projecting image light in blue is provided with an LED array for emitting light of a wavelength band in blue. Each image light in color obtained as a result of passing through the liquid crystal display panel is projected by the projection lens, and displayed on a screen. As a result, each image light in color is superposed on the screen, and an image in full color is displayed.
