摘要:
A toroidal continuously variable transmission including input and output disks having a common first rotation axis about which the disks are rotatable, and a power roller swingably interposed between the disks and having a second rotation axis intersecting the first rotation axis, about which the power roller is rotatable. The input and output disks and the power roller have traction surfaces cooperating with each other to transmit rotation therebetween. At least one of the input and output disks and the power roller has a surface roughness on the traction surface thereof which varies in a direction of the rotation axis thereof.

A rotary assembly for traction drives, including a plurality of rolling elements having a rotation axis and traction contact surfaces around the rotation axis and associating with each other to transmit a motive power between the rolling elements via a traction oil film formed between the traction contact surfaces, in which at least one of the traction contact surfaces has a microstructure with irregularities which sizes are larger than a thickness of the traction oil film. The process for the traction contact surface is also disclosed.

A toroidal-type continuously variable transmission (CVT), including rolling elements having traction surfaces cooperating with each other to transmit a power between the rolling elements via a traction oil film formed between the traction surfaces. The traction surfaces have the microstructure that is defined with respect to a thickness of the traction oil film formed when the temperature of the traction portion of the traction surface is high, to thereby exhibit high traction coefficient even in the high-temperature operating condition.

In a toroidal continuously variable transmission, a link support structure of one of upper and lower links linking ends of trunnions includes a stationary portion fixed to a transmission casing. Also provided is an engagement portion formed at the link and in contact with the stationary portion. The engagement pair restricts a fore-and-aft movement of the link relative to the casing in a direction of a common rotation axis O1 of input and output disks. A freedom for the fore-and-aft movement of the link relative to the casing is relatively less than a freedom for a vertical movement of the link relative to the casing in a direction of the trunnion axis O2 and relatively less than a freedom for a left-and-right movement of the link relative to the casing in a direction normal to both the common rotation axis O1 and the trunnion axis O2.

A power roller (18C, 18D, 20C, 20D) of a toroidal continuously variable transmission is supported by a pedestal (94) such that it is free to rotate. A first roller bearing (96A) supporting the pedestal (94) in the trunnion (17) against a horizontal load which makes a right angle with an input shaft (16) of the transmission, and a second roller bearing (96B, 96C) supporting the pedestal (94) in the trunnion (17) against a vertical load which makes a right angle with the input shaft (16) of the transmission, are provided between the trunnion (17) and the pedestal (94). These roller bearings (96A), (96B), (96C) permit the pedestal (94) to easily displace parallel to the input shaft (16).

A microlens array includes N lenses ranging from a 1st lens to an Nth lens and a lens arrangement area. N is a positive integer. The lens arrangement area has the N lenses arranged in array. The lens arrangement area receives light emitted from a light source. An ith (i being 1st to Nth) lens satisfies a conditional expression below: −20°≤θ≤20° where θ denotes an angle formed by a main-axis orientation of double refraction and a reference orientation.

A liquid droplet discharging apparatus includes a plurality of nozzles to discharge a liquid droplet onto a medium and a liquid droplet discharging controller to receive image data. The liquid droplet discharging controller controls each of the nozzles to discharge the liquid droplet in an amount defined by the image data onto a target discharging position on the medium, which corresponds to a pixel position defined by the image data. The liquid droplet discharging controller controls at least one of the nozzles to discharge the liquid droplet for a controlled number of times smaller than a number of times N representing an integer not smaller than 2 in an amount greater than the amount defined by the image data onto the target discharging position on the medium. A frequency recorder records the controlled number of times of discharging for each of the at least one of the nozzles.

A printer including an optical moving amount calculator, an angle calculator, and a moving amount corrector is provided. The optical moving amount calculator calculates a moving amount of the printer or an object to be irradiated after a movement thereof, based on a difference in image data generated before and after the movement. The image data is generated by emitting light to the print medium or the object and receiving light reflected therefrom. The angle calculator calculates a deviation angle of an installation angle of the optical moving amount calculator installed in the printer, based on a calibration moving amount of the printer or the object after a calibration movement thereof that is a parallel translation. The moving amount corrector corrects the moving amount of the printer after the movement thereof, based on the calculated deviation angle of the optical moving amount calculator.
