Abstract: A method, a network device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in relation to a low latency, low loss, and scalable throughput (LI4S)-triggered prioritized connection service. The LI4S-triggered prioritized connection service may enable an evolved packet data gateway (ePDG) to provision prioritized and non-prioritized tunnels with end devices via untrusted wireless local area networks. The prioritized tunnel may support LI4S or another quality of service in which the ePDG may provide prioritized data forwarding. The end device may transmit a request that includes priority data.

Abstract: Systems and methods enable dynamic network function management, including obtaining user input data identifying network slice provisioning parameters for a creation of a network slice in a network; sending a request for a network repository function (NRF) instance for the network slice, to an orchestrator; receiving, from the NRF instance, a verification message of the creation of the network slice; sending, to the orchestrator, a request for a creation of multiple network function (NF) instances according to the network slice provisioning parameters; receiving, from the orchestrator, a verification message of the creation of the NF instances for the network slice; receiving, from the NRF, a confirmation message of a registration of the NF instances for the network slice; sending slice-specific subscriber provisioning data to a user data instance provisioned for the network slice; and generating a network slice creation confirmation message identifying the network slice.

Abstract: A geo-fencing system stores a geo-fence associated with a geographic location of a user equipment device (UE). The geo-fencing system receives, from a Network Exposure Function (NEF) or Service Capability Exposure Function (SCEF) in a mobile network, a monitoring event (MONTE) location report associated with a current location of the UE within the mobile network, and extracts a Radio Access Network (RAN) location from the MONTE location report, where the RAN location identifies a cell, cell sector, eNodeB (eNB), gNodeB (gNB), or tracking area (TA) associated with the current location of the UE. The geo-fencing system determines, based on a comparison of the identified cell, cell sector, eNB, gNB, or TA with the stored geo-fence, whether the UE has entered or exited the geo-fence, and sends, based on the determination, a geo-fence alert to the NEF or SCEF for forwarding to a geo-fencing enabled application.

Abstract: A method, a network device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in relation to an EASDF secure service. The EASDF secure service may include a network-side service that may validate access and authorization to use a domain name system (DNS) resolver device, such as an edge application server discovery function. The network-side service may validate access and authorization of an end device based on tokens. The EASDF secure service may include an end device-side service that includes a token with a DNS query to the DNS resolver device. The end device-side service may further provide authorization regarding access and use of applications, networks, and application devices that host applications and/or assets by the end device at the end device. The end device-side service may determine access and/or authorization based on tokens and a validation procedure performed at the end device.

Abstract: A device in a network may be configured to: receive a request from a User Equipment (UE) device to establish a session with a network slice in the network; obtain a device type of the UE device; select, by using the device type, a Session Management Function (SMF), among a set of SMFs, which manages sessions for UE devices of the device type; and send a message to the selected SMF to create a session context. When the selected SMF receives the message, the selected SMF is configured to select a User Plane Function (UPF) based on the device type and cause the selected UPF to establish the session between the UE device and the network slice.
