Abstract:
The assembly is of the type comprising two pairs of front longitudinal members of a chassis of a motor vehicle and support and fixing mounting plates arranged at the front ends of the longitudinal members and comprising a front bumper shield comprising a one-piece plastics material frame consisting of an upper bumper beam and a lower bumper beam and two vertical members connecting the upper and lower bumper beams, the vertical members of the frame being configured to act as impact absorbers and fixed resting directly against the mounting plates.
Abstract:
This assembly comprises a structural frame (2) and a plastic material bumper (4) formed so as to match the shape of a bumper skin and arranged against the structural frame (2), said bumper (4) comprising an upper cross member (34) and a lower cross member (36) interconnected via vertical connecting beams (38), the upper (34) and lower (36) cross members each having a central portion (48) and two lateral portions (50) arranged on either side of the central portion (48), said cross members (34, 36) comprising a plurality of ribs (52). The number of ribs (52) in the central portion (48) of the upper cross member (34) and/or of the lower cross member (36) is greater than the number of ribs (52) of each lateral portion (50) of the upper cross member (34) and/or of the lower cross member (36).
Abstract:
This bumper assembly is adapted for a motor vehicle having a structure including a pair of upper side members (6) and a pair of lower side members (8). It includes an energy absorbing panel (12) having at least two columns (16) each provided to bear on the ends of an upper side member (6) and a lower side member (8) and a beam (18) extending transversely between the columns (16). According to one embodiment, the bumper assembly includes a plate (36) doubling the beam (18) such that the beam (18) is compressed between a frontal face (36a) of the plate (36) in case of impact. The device is applicable to front or rear bumpers.
Abstract:
This assembly comprises a plastics material structural frame (2) comprising at least a lower cross member (8) and vertical struts (10, 12), each of said struts (10, 12) forming, over at least a portion of its height, a deformable energy absorption component (14), the module further comprising a plastics material shield (4) formed so as to match the shape of a shield skin (56) and arranged against the structural frame (2), said shield (4) comprising an upper cross member (34) and a lower cross member (36) interconnected via vertical connecting beams (38). The upper (34) and lower (36) cross members and the connecting beams (38) comprise a plurality of ribs (48) which form cells (50) in said cross members (34, 36) and said beams (38), at least some of said cells (50) passing through the shield (4).
Abstract:
A front shock-absorber assembly for a motor vehicle includes, at each of the right-hand and left-hand sides thereof, at least a lower longitudinal structural element (6, 7) and an upper longitudinal structural element (4, 5). The shock-absorber assembly includes a high-energy impact absorption structure (12) which includes an elongate right-hand plate (18) and left-hand plate (19), each plate being fixedly joined to a lower longitudinal element and an upper longitudinal element located at the same side of the vehicle; and a deformable right-hand element (30) and left-hand element (31) for absorbing medium-energy impacts, a rear surface of a deformable element moving into abutment against the majority of a front surface of an associated plate.
