    摘要: Novel thermoplastic sheet materials for permitting positionable and repeated repositionable use of tape fasteners therewith without experiencing substnatial loss of tape adhesion therebetween are disclosed. A novel thermoplastic sheet material generally comprises an ethylene polymer and an anti-popoff polymer in an effective amount for increasing and substantially maintaining the tape adhesion. The increase in and substantial maintenance of the tape adhesion is accomplished without adversely affecting the properties or cost of the thermoplastic sheet material. A preferred formulation for producing the novel thermoplastic sheet material comprises polyethylene as the ethylene polymer and a polypropylene or alpha-methyl styrene as the anti-popoff polymer. The novel thermoplastic sheet materials are especially suitable for use as films which can be used as backsheets in absorbent articles, such as, disposable diapers, bandages, surgical dressings or drapes and catamenial pads.

    摘要: A clutch assembly is provided to prevent over tensioning of the spring motor of a window shade. The clutch assembly includes sleeve means, connected to one end of the spring motor, having an axial bore formed with internal threads which are engageable with threads formed along the window shade dowel, and also having sleeve locking means operable to engage retaining means formed on the interior surface of the window shade tube. The clutch assembly is operable to permit tensioning of the spring motor a predetermined number of turns of the window shade tube in one direction and then prevent further tensioning of the spring motor without restricting rotation of the tube in such one direction.

    摘要: This invention is directed to a window shade assembly including a telescoping roller and a shade mounted on the roller which may be quickly and easily adjusted to conform to the size of the window opening into which the assembly is to be mounted. The shade at one end includes a first portion secured to the larger roller section and a second portion wrapped around the projecting end of the smaller roller section a number of times sufficient to form a tube having an outside diameter approximately equal to the outside diameter of the first roller section. The projecting smaller roller section is freely axially slidable within the tube. In accordance with a preferred form of the invention disclosed, the shade includes at the side adjacent the smaller roller section a plurality of spaced hand-strip lines, preferably invisible, extending from end-to-end parallel to the shade edge which permit hand-stripping of discrete widths of the shade while the shade is rolled on the roller. In accordance with the invention disclosed, the window shade assembly is conveniently sized merely by severing the shade material at a desired shade width and adjusting the telescoping roller to conform to the desired width.

    摘要: Novel thermoplastic sheet materials, absorbant articles formed therewith and method of producing such sheet materials are disclosed. The novel thermoplastic sheet materials are soft and pliable having a high modulus, high impact resistance and tear strengths and enhanced tape adhesion. The novel thermoplastic sheet materials are formed directly during a coextrusion process which may thereafter include an embossing step. The novel, coextruded thermoplastic sheet materials comprise a plurality of coextruded layers having high modulus outer layers for permitting pressure-sensitive adhesive tape-tab fasteners to be positioned and repositioned thereon without losing substantial tape adhesion therebetween or tearing the sheet materials following their original attachments. The outer layers are formed with a first thermoplastic polymer, such as a polypropylene, having an effective modulus to resist tearing, yielding and deformation upon detaching tape-tab fasteners therefrom, and further having an effective bonding affinity to maintain tape adhesion after initial attachment. The other layer of the thermoplastic sheet materials is an inner layer(s) being formed with a second thermoplastic polymer, such as a polyethylene, to impart softness or low stiffness and effective impact resistance and tear strengths to the sheet materials. The novel thermoplastic sheet materials of the instant invention are suitable for use with articles which, for example, absorb body fluids, and are especially suitable for use as backsheet films in disposable diapers.

    摘要: A plastic film having a random embossed matte finish is provided. The random embossed matte film may be wound very easily into rolls and the roll contour achieved has superior uniformity. In addition, the film provides relatively equal tape adhesion and gloss properties on both sides which make it especially suitable for use in articles such as disposable diapers or underpads. Another advantageous property which renders it especially suitable for diaper conversion operations is its very low degree of edge curl. The thin film provides a totally different appearance as compared to conventional diaper films in that the overall appearance is a dull matte finish, but nonetheless having slight sparkles of brilliance throughout the surface, and it further provides a softer feel.
