摘要： A raised roof vehicle has an overhead storage compartment positioned above the windshield area of the vehicle and extending from side to side thereof. A wall or floor of the storage compartment separates the interior of the storage compartment from the portion of the cab at the exterior thereof. At least one plural purpose light source is coupled to the wall and operable to direct light simultaneously through a light diffusing housing into the interior of the overhead storage compartment and through a wall opening to the cab at the exterior of the overhead storage compartment. A light source cover of a light transmitting material overlies the plural purpose light source and cooperates with the lens or globe to substantially enclose the plural purpose light source. The assembly may include at least one red light source coupled to the wall and operable to bathe the instrument panel of the truck with red light. At least one spotlight may also be provided in the assembly. The red light source and spotlight sources may also be provided with light reflective covers cooperating with an associated lens to enclose the respective red light source and spotlight source. Plural openings may be provided through the wall with one such opening being associated with each of the light sources.

摘要： Enclosures such as drawers and glove compartments are provided with a light that automatically turns on when the enclosure is opened and turns off when closed. This light has a lightbulb in circuit with batteries and a switching mechanism, including a spring and actuator for the spring which is mounted to rotate, move linearly outwardly and inwardly relative to the light's housing, or do both simultaneously. The actuator has a portion engaging the spring and an arcuate edge portion extending beyond the housing which engages a surface of the enclosure when the enclosure is opened or closed. During relative movement between the enclosure surface and the light, the actuator moves the spring between two positions, one of which opens the circuit to the lightbulb, the other of which closes this circuit.

摘要： A combined switch and light assembly having a socket body. The socket body has a mounting plate and a cylindrical body member. The assembly further includes a plunger consisting of a cylindrical tube. The plunger has a smaller diameter than the diameter of the body member of the socket body. The plunger is in sliding engagement with the body member of the socket body. A spiral spring is mounted in the socket body to slide the plunger with respect to the socket body. A metallic contact pin is attached to the plunger. A light bulb is mounted in the plunger and connected to the contact pin. A metallic plate is mounted on the socket body. The plate is connected to electrical leads. When the assembly is activated, the spring slides the plunger until the contact pin is in communication with the metallic plate. The electricity running to the plate flows to the contact pin connected to the light bulb. This energizes the light bulb to provide light.

摘要： A card case is mounted within the vicinity of the driver's seat of an automobile for accommodating and holding therein a magnetic card. The card case has a card accommodation portion which is provided upon the inner surface thereof with an illuminating means. The card accommodation portion is also provided therein with a push member pushed inwardly by means of the insertion of a card, biasing means for biasing the push member in the direction of extracting the card, and a latch device for latching the push member at a card accommodation position within the card accommodation portion and, when the push member is pushed in further from the card accommodation position, for releasing the latched push member within the card accommodation portion. 摘要： An illumination device for motor vehicles which include a floor mounted console provided within the passenger compartment. The illumination device includes a case having an opening therein and which is detachably provided in the console so that the case can be easily installed and removed from the console, a lamp provided in the case adjacent to the opening and a long flexible power cord electrically coupled to the lamp and to a source of power such that the illumination device can be removed from the console and utilized at various locations within the passenger compartment. The lamp, case opening and console is further arranged and configured such that when the illumination device is installed in the console, the illumination device illuminates an instrument panel of the motor vehicle without casting light on the windshield of the motor vehicle.
