摘要: A mooring device having a pivotal joint which is subjected to shear strain or stress at a pin when in use. The pin is provided with at least one region having a cross section with a diameter smaller than that of the bearing surface of the pin. At least one pair of strain sensors is mounted in this region, and these are connected in an electrical circuit capable of indicating shear strain due to force applied to the pin. The pin is provided with means for keeping the plane of action of the strain sensors aligned substantially in the direction of any resultant applied force which produces the shear strain or stress.

摘要: A system for controlling the position of a floating vessel consisting of propulsion apparatus capable of moving the vessel, a logic device controlling the propulsion apparatus, and position detecting apparatus for providing output signals related to any algebraic difference(s) between the actual position and heading of the vessel and the required position and heading in relation to a reference datum, arranged so that output signals are fed from the position detecting apparatus to the logic device to cause the logic device to control the propulsion apparatus whereby the position of the vessel is altered in such a manner that the algebraic difference(s) is reduced in magnitude.

摘要: A system and method for performing structural health monitoring on a structural element while it remains in service and experiences normal loading. The energy input to the element will be the normal and random energy inputs the element sees in service. The inventive system places an intelligent module at one or more points along the length of the structural element. The inventive system collects mass data from multiple modules on multiple elements. The system then applies machine learning or artificial intelligence techniques to detect changes in the measurements received from one or more modules. This approach reduces or eliminates the need to provide calibrated input energy. The invention preferably provides the ability to determine the condition of one element or sub-element under measurement relative to other elements.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a system and method of monitoring a mooring system for a floating vessel using the time of the natural period independent of environmental conditions. The natural period can be calculated and/or established experientially over time by measuring movement of the vessel to establish the natural period at given geographical positions of a secure and intact mooring system. The natural period can be monitored based on the time to complete a natural period. A change in a mooring line stiffness, whether by a failure, stretching, a degradation of the mooring line integrity, or a significant displacement of the anchoring point, will be translated into a different natural period with a different time. By monitoring the natural period for a given geographical position (and corresponding heading) to be compared to the theoretical values (and/or previous recorded values) it is then possible to assess that at least a portion of the mooring system has failed or that a significant damage has occurred.

摘要: A system and method for offshore loading of large cargo vessels, or motherships. The system includes a plurality of mooring stations, which may be mooring buoys, positioned in an offshore mooring field proximal an onshore cargo loading facility. A mothership is positioned within the mooring field and moored via bow and stern lines to two or more different mooring stations. Environmental data, including wind, wave, and current data, as well data regarding the physical characteristics of the mothership and movement (roll/pitch/heave) of the mothership are collected by remote transmitting and sensing devices. This data is processed by numerical analysis in a digital processor, namely a computer, to determine optimum mooring line length and tension, and mooring station locations, in order to minimize mother ship movement and create an optimum “lee” loading area adjacent the mothership. Cargo is transferred to the mothership by a trans-shipper moored to the mothership.

摘要: A method and a system for assisting steering and mooring alongside of vessels that enables operators to easily obtain physical relationship between two vessels and the states of mooring lines and fenders when the operators lay the two vessels aboard and moors them alongside for loading cargoes are provided. Physical relationship between a hull of the first vessel and a hull of the second vessel is calculated in the form of numerical data based on information on a reference position of a first vessel that is detected by a first GPS receiver, information on a reference position of a second vessel that is detected by a second GPS receiver, oscillation information on the first vessel, oscillation information on the second vessel, information on a distance between the two vessels that is measured by distance measuring device, coordinate data including hull outer shape and the like against the reference position for each vessel, and air pressure data for each fender. Information on the physical relationship between the hull of said first vessel and the hull of said second vessel based on the numerical data and the state of each fender are displayed on a first display device provided for a steering room of the first vessel and a second display device provided for a steering room of the second vessel by means of animation.

摘要: A method is disclosed for monitoring the position of a floating object. The method starts by receiving as input at least a position of the floating object, and an orientation of the floating object. A horizontal distance between the floating object and an anchor coupled to the floating object is then calculated. A position of the anchor is then calculated from the position of the floating object and the orientation. An area is set based upon the position of the anchor, and it is determined whether a present position of the floating object is within that area. An alarm signal is provided when the present position of the floating object is outside the area.
