摘要： A man-overboard rescue and retrieval system includes a net assembly having a pair of laterally spaced apart side ropes and a plurality of net portions, each net portion being constructed of a material that floats, extends laterally between the side ropes, and is spaced apart longitudinally from an adjacent net portion. The system includes a deployment capsule defining an interior space configured to selectively receive the net assembly therein. A launching device includes a framework configured to receive the deployment member. A first compressed air canister is in fluid communication with the launching device and the deployment member and configured to apply force to the deployment member when actuated that is sufficient to propel the deployment member from the launching device. Each net portion includes a net spreader connected to a second compressed air canister for selective inflation thereof so as to spread apart the side ropes and net portions.

摘要： A body bag for water retrieval of human remains is provided. The body bag is lightweight and disposable. The body bag is made of a material having a hole ratio per unit weight of material in a particular range that permits rapid water drainage yet provides sufficient strength and integrity to the body bag, and reduces cross-contamination. The body bag can have a skid pad on an exterior surface as an aid to lifting the body bag out of the water and over the gunwale or sides of a recovery vehicle. The body bag also can have large handles for ease of gripping and to attach buoyancy devices. The body bag further can have a snag line around its periphery.

摘要： A rescue lift is provided wherein a frame supporting a rescue net is pivotally attached to a work boat by means of a rotating drive shaft positioned on the boat. A float is provided on the end of the frame opposite the drive shaft to enable the bottom of the net to be submerged in the sea at all times. The frame is free to rotate about its pivotal attachment as the ship rolls and pitches, thereby providing a safe means to rescue an incapacitated person in rough sea conditions. The drive shaft rotates the rescue lift between a pick-up position in the sea and a discharge position extending upwardly above the work boat. The rescue lift can be positioned in a stowed position in order to fully utilize the deck space of the ship.

摘要： The rescue system includes a mobile trailer on which are mounted telescoping hydraulic arms and a winch. A net is connected to the winch and passes over a roller mounted at the outer ends of the hydraulic arms which are vertically and horizontally movable to position the net over the body of water. The net hangs downwardly from the roller into the body of water. A ballast is attached at the lower end of the net so that the net is vertically oriented in the water. A rope connected to the lower end of the net and a set of pulleys enable the lower end of the net to be lifted to envelope a person therein. When the person is enveloped in the net, the winch is actuated via an electric motor to reel in the net and lift the net and the person out of the body of water and to a place of safety.

摘要： A rescue basket having the capacity to safely hold two full-sized individuals increases the efficiency and effectiveness of helicopter water rescue and recovery operations. The rescue basket includes an open end, which affords an additional option for loading passengers, along with a door mechanism that can at least partially close off the open end for passenger safety. The rescue basket includes a flotation system that maintains the basket at a desired flotation level when completely immersed in water, along with sufficient reserve buoyancy to safely maintain the passengers above water when loaded. Methods of performing a water rescue utilizing the present rescue basket on board of a helicopter are also provided.
