    摘要: A flotation harness and kinetic safety system includes a vest-style harness having an internal buoyant material for functioning as a personal flotation device. An elongated kinetic recovery cord is connected to the back panel. A length adjustment mechanism is positioned along the cord and a clip is positioned along the distal end of the cord for engaging an overhead portion of a boat. At least one adjustment belt is positioned along the harness body. A pelvic support panel extends down from the back panel of the harness body and connect to the front panels. The pelvic support panel works in conjunction with the kinetic recovery cord to selectively support the weight of a user as the boat encounters waves.

    摘要: An overboard tracking device is an apparatus which facilitates the location of individuals wearing Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) or similar survival devices in a body of water. The apparatus includes a prismatic buoyant housing, a power source, at least one switch, a controller, a transceiver, a thermionic layer, an antenna layer, and a waterproof casing. The prismatic buoyant housing maintains the apparatus above water. The power source provides power for the operation of the apparatus. The at least one switch enables manual or automatic activation or deactivation for the apparatus. The controller processes the data and signals received from external radar sources. The transceiver facilitates the sending and receiving of radio wave signals to/from external radar sources. The thermionic layer generates the power stored in the power source. The antenna layer transmits radio waves from/to the transceiver. The waterproof casing prevents contact of the electronic components with water.

    摘要: A lift vest of this disclosure includes a base garment shaped to cover at least a substantial portion of an upper torso of a patient, a waist belt connected to the base garment, and a pair of crotch belts removably connected to the waist belt. The base garment may include a chest a waist belt interconnected by cross-webbing. Pulling on one or both of the belts in any direction causes the webbing to tighten about the wearer's torso. The lift vest may include a pair of knee belts connected to the waist belt. The knee belts can be fixed to the waist belt or removably connected to it. The knee belt may include a removable connection along its length. Other embodiments include a base garment covering the upper torso below the armpits and having a single belt connected to garment that provides a hand hold.

    摘要: A Personal Flotation Device (PFD), in the form of a vest or like garment, and having a quiver-like receptacle attachment, hinged to the garment for flexibility, is provided. The quiver attachment houses a mast and flag attached to a small flotation device, such that when the user enters the water the flotation device causes the mast and attached flag to rise so that the flag can be seen from a distance and the wearer identified thereby. The quiver element is attached such that it can place the extended mast and flag unobtrusively and at a distance from the wearer's head for comfort. The quiver element comprises a housing for the mast and flotation device and is permeable to water; the quiver element is shaped to guide the mast and flag linearly at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the wearer. The device allows for the flag to be interchanged with other flags so as to better identify the wearer from other users.

Particularly, the present invention provides a fuel cell based life jacket that can utilize electricity, heat and water generated during the operation of a fuel cell as a power source of a life extension tool and a personal location beacon. The fuel cell based life jacket of the present invention comprises a fuel cell unit for supplying electricity, a hydrogen fuel supply unit for storing and supplying the hydrogen fuel required for the fuel cell unit to generate electricity, a signal output unit for transmitting a signal using the electricity generated by the fuel cell unit, and a heat generating unit for recovering and transferring the heat generated in the fuel cell unit, wherein the hydrogen fuel supply unit generates hydrogen by using a hydrogen generation composition.

Accordingly, the lithium polymer battery can be adopted to replace a convention lithium battery, so that the distress device of lifejacket can be safety disposed in an aircraft for providing sufficient amount of electricity required by the wireless emitter, thereby allowing the distress device of lifejacket to have an additional function of emitting signals, and the research and rescue team is able to rapidly locate the sufferer, so that the distress device of lifejacket is provided with advantages of increasing operation safety and facilitating the locating procedure for search and rescue.

    摘要: The GPS locatable multi-purpose life jacket system is a survival vest having usefulness in a wide variety of unfortunate situations. The vest has a GPS transmitter that transmits the wearer's location and has a multi-colored light having blue and red strobe lights visually indicating the location of the distressed wearer in a dark environment, and a white light for using as a flash light in dark locations. A removable floatation collar is attached about the neck opening which may be automatically inflated via a CO2 cylinder, to act as a life jacket, if water submersion is detected for more than thirty seconds. The red and blue lights of the multi-colored light may also be automatically activated, but can also be manually activated. The vest has pockets for carrying an I.D. card, means to start a fire, and tools for emergency survival.
