摘要:
A draft system for controlling the combustion air entering and exhaust exiting ''''teepee''''wood waste burners is presented. The system includes forced underfire air, forced overfire air, tangential overfire vents, a top damper, and controllers therefor, operable responsive to the internal temperature of the burner. The controllers maintain the burner temperature at preferably between about 800-900 degrees Fahrenheit for complete combustion of wood waste fuel by controlling the rate of forced underfire and overfire air, venting into the burner, and by controlling the damper. In a preferred embodiment a first controller is operably coupled to the underfire air system, the overfire air system, and the cooling vents while a second controller is operably coupled to the damper. The system also includes alternate manual controls and a strip chart recording pyrometer.

A support for an oil fired igniter unit mounted within the wall of a waste wood burner. The support includes pivot means supporting the elongate igniter for horizontal swinging movement and further includes roller means permitting inward and outward positioning of the igniter unit for efficiency purposes while permitting retraction of the igniter unit during formation of the waste pile.

A conical or cylindrical burner for burning wood wastes, bark residues and other combustible solid wastes is disclosed which includes an insulating lining such as a refractory material applied over the inner surface of the shell of the burner to retard heat loss. The insulating liner may be applied in situ after erection of the burner shell. Rows of concentrically arranged grates provide means for delivering primary combustion air to the burning zone. The overfire and recirculation air system includes means to supply ambient and/or hot recirculating gases in a predetermined ratio to keep the burner temperature within a predetermined range. A temperature sensing means located near the exhaust opening at the top of the burner is operatively connected to a controller which automatically adjusts interconnected dampers in the ambient air and hot recirculating gas inlets of the overfire and recirculation air system to a ratio of ambient air to recirculated hot gases to maintain the burner temperature essentially constant even with variable fuel feed to the burner. The refuse burner is capable of combusting wood and bark residues efficiently with significantly reduced visible smoke and particulate matter.

A flueless primary combustion chamber forms a part of a pollution control incineration system having an elongated duct having one or more inlets positioned at or near grade level. An upright standpipe removably covers an inlet opening to provide a polluted gas inlet to the duct from a location elevated above grade. The primary combustion chamber is constructed with a closed top and an open bottom which removably overfits the standpipe in a manner to allow combustible material to be burned within the shell and to direct the gases of combustion downwardly into the duct through the top of the standpipe.

A draft system for an incinerator having a floor, upstanding walls therefrom, and a fuel feeding means mounted in the upper portion thereof, is presented. The system includes an underfire draft comprising a plurality of mutually spaced, symmetrically arrayed draft boxes mounted below the burner floor and supporting grates at the floor level. Each box is fed by a separately controlled source of forced air which is directed upwardly through the grate. The system also includes an overfire draft comprising a plurality of mutually spaced vents opening through the walls of the incinerator. Each vent is separately controlled and tangentially directed. The overfire system also may include a plurality of mutually spaced, tangentially directed blowers mounted in the walls of the incinerator. The vents and blowers of the overfire draft create a cyclonic circulation within the incinerator to facilitate uniform burning. At least one centrally located draft box may also be connected to a source of flammable gas for ignition of the material to be incinerated.
