    摘要: It is intended to improve work efficiency by eliminating the work of attaching and removing push rods during installing and dismounting the a blade mount and also to reduce abrasion of the push rods for pushing punching scrap out of a punching blade. The first push rods 18 are inserted movably in the first through-holes 16 formed in the knife cylinder and the second push rods 36 are inserted movably in the second through-holes 34 formed in the blade mount to permit the second push rods 36 to be abutted on the first push rods 18. A scrap push lever 30 is mounted on the outer end of the second push rod 36 to push out the punching scrap a and an eccentric cylinder 14 is provided inside of the knife cylinder 10 to push the first push rod 18 outward when pushing out the punching scrap a. The stroke of the first push rod 18 is controlled so that the outer end 18a of the first push rod 18 does not project from the outer periphery 10a of the knife cylinder. The first push rod 18 and the second push rod 36 are preferably made from one of self-lubricating resin and abrasion-resistant material.

    摘要: A method of making a pair of rotary die cylinders with lands having coacting cutting edges which cut blanks from a web of material passing through the nip of the rotating dies. In cross section each land has an outer face and a pair of spaced apart side faces which are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the chord of the outer face to provide a clean cut and facilitate release of the cut blank from the cutting blades as it emerges from the nip of the dies. The die cylinders are journalled for rotation by recesses with frusto conical locating surfaces in their opposed ends. Each die cylinder is made by machining the recesses in the opposed ends of a generally cylindrical workpiece of tool steel and then utilizing the recesses to locate and orient the workpiece relative to a cutting tool to produce a cylindrical surface on the workpiece concentric with the axis of the recesses and then to machine away portions of the periphery of the cylindrical surface to form the cutting blade lands thereon. After machining is completed the cutting blade lands may be hardened by heat treating utilizing a laser beam directed onto the lands to heat them at an elevated temperature so that upon quenching they are hardened without any substantial hardening and resulting distortion of the core or body of the workpiece.

    摘要: A variable rotary cutter assembly for transverse cutting of web material as it passes through a nip between rotating anvil and knife cylinders includes one or more cutter assemblies selectively positionable on the periphery of the knife cylinder. Each cutter assembly includes a base block adapted to be releasibly mounted on the knife cylinder, and a pair of pivotally connected block members one of which is adapted for releasibly mounting on an associated base block and the other of which carries an elongated knife blade and is outwardly pivotable about a pivot axis parallel to and spaced from the knife blade. Spring means bias the knife carrier block member outwardly about its pivot axis so as to effect a predetermined cutting pressure per unit length of the knife blade against the anvil while enabling self-adjusting movement of the knife blade to accommodate substantial variance in anvil and knife cylinder spacing and knife blade wear. The cutters assemblies may be mounted to effect single or double transverse web cuts, and stripper means are provided to strip trim strips cut from the web by pairs of knife blades.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process and device for continuously and rotatably cutting a sheet transversely with respect to its direction of advance, wherein the device comprises a rotor provided with cutters and mounted to rotate about an axis eccentric with respect to that of a squirrel cage surrounding this rotor, the bars of the cage defining slots for the passage of the cutters as far as a flexible belt resting on an anvil member and wound on cylinders for driving the sheet to be cut. This device is particularly applicable to the cutting of laths from a sheet of wood as said latter is peeled, for the manufacture of packing cases or the like.
