    摘要: A pair of rotary die cylinders with lands having coacting cutting edges which cut blanks from a web of material passing through the nip of the rotating dies. In cross section each land has an outer face and a pair of spaced apart side faces which are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the chord of the outer face to provide a clean cut and facilitate release of the cut blank from the cutting blades as it emerges from the nip of the dies. The die cylinders are journalled for rotation by recesses with frusto conical locating surfaces in their opposed ends. Each die cylinder is made by machining the recesses in the opposed ends of a generally cylindrical workpiece of tool steel and then utilizing the recesses to locate and orient the workpiece relative to a cutting tool to produce a cylindrical surface on the workpiece concentric with the axis of the recesses and then to machine away portions of the periphery of the cylindrical surface to form the cutting blade lands thereon. After machining is completed the cutting blade lands may be hardened by heat treating utilizing a laser beam directed onto the lands to heat them at an elevated temperature so that upon quenching they are hardened without any substantial hardening and resulting distortion of the core or body of the workpiece.

    摘要: A rolling cage to produce hot rolled bars, comprising at least one pair of rolling cylinders (12, 13) mounted on their respective stands (14, 15) in which a clearance (17) (processing gap) between said cylinders (12, 13) is adjusted by a system of screws (18) and lead screws (21), and which provides for a hydraulic pre-loading system of the same cylinders (12, 13) after adjusting the said clearance (17). According to the invention, the pre-loading system of said hydraulic cylinders (12, 13) comprises a multiple number of rods (27) crossing said stands (14, 15) and capable of a relative sliding motion. Each of said rods (27) is at one extremity (28) attached to a stand (14) while the opposite extremity is equipped with a piston (29) moving inside a hydraulic cylinder (30) firmly attached to the stand (15) opposite the former, so that said rods (27) also serve the function of opposing the rolling torque.

    摘要: Apparatus for sizing square metal ingots to be subsequently pierced in a push bench to form pierced blanks for rolling into tubes is provided having freely rotatable sizing rolls to engage the corner edges of the ingot as the ingot is pushed through the support and freely rotatable guiding rollers to engage the side faces of the ingot. The sizing rolls are radially adjustable by means of both a coarse adjustment device and a fine adjustment device while the guiding rollers are only provided with coarse adjustment. The adjustment devices can be computer controlled so that both ends of the ingot are conically tipped and so that the ingot is slightly tapered throughout its length.
