Abstract:
The present invention is a leak prevention system that monitors and detects loosening of a valve. The leak prevention system includes a biasing member, a tightening member, and a pulling member. The biasing member has a first end and a second end, the first end being in communication with the tightening assembly, while the second end being in communication with the pulling assembly. The tightening assembly is carried by the valve, is adapted to tighten the packing nut should packing from the valve loosen. The pulling assembly is adapted to pull the tightening assembly via the biasing member after packing wears away, such that the wearing away loosens the tightening assembly and the constant force of the biasing member, supported by the pulling assembly, causes the tightening assembly to move. After packing has worn away, a visual indication can indicate to an operator that the valve may soon leak.
Abstract:
A system for notifying and/or warning of fallen or downed insulated conductor generally includes a distribution system for distributing a utility, such as power, and a sensor system for sensing whether the distribution system is properly operating. The warning system can include a support structure; an arm carried by the support structure and extending outwardly therefrom; a distribution system providing a utility via at least one wire, the wire held aloft from a below surface via the arm; a communication cable transmitting a signal; a disruption assembly carrying the communication cable and in communication with the support structure. The disruption assembly is loaded with the potential of disrupting the signal transmitted by the communication cable; and a sensor system is adapted to monitor the distribution system based on the signal transmitted by the communication cable.

The present invention provides systems and methods of portable oil filtration. In an exemplary embodiment, the portable oil filtration system has a portable device body. Mounted on this portable device body are a motor, a pump, an input valve, an output valve, and a filtration device. Additionally, the portable device body is enabled to be carried by a user.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a compressible bladder for easing the process of opening a pressure-sealed chamber. The valve comprises a valve body having an interior, wherein media is adapted to flow therethrough; a bonnet defining a chamber carried by the valve body; a plug having a first position and a second position, wherein the plug prohibits media to flow through the valve body in the first position, and the plug does not prohibit media to flow through the valve body in the second position; an elongated stem adapted to move the plug between the two positions, wherein the stem is positioned between the valve body and the bonnet; and a compressible bladder positioned in the chamber of the bonnet adapted to compress upon an increase of pressure within the chamber of the bonnet.
Abstract:
A method and computer program product are provided for automatically managing and coordinating information and changes relating to an information technology infrastructure. The information and changes are stored in an application portfolio database. Information for a plurality of applications and a plurality of servers is determined and stored in the application portfolio database. The application information includes application version identification and status for each application; the server information includes server identification, status and a call group for each server. Information for call groups associated with the servers and applications is determined and stored. Information regarding the components for each version of an application is determined and stored. Application dependencies for each application are determined and stored. A plurality of applications associated with each server is identified. An impact analysis in the event of server failure is determined for each application running on each server. An impact analysis display provides a link to application dependencies and the call group associated with the failed server.
Abstract:
A non-boring support system, or a temporary arm gain, is described. The support system enables attaching a supporting arm to an existing utility pole. The support system can include a securing assembly and a mounting member. The securing assembly can define an aperture sufficiently large enough to receive and secure the supporting arm. The mounting member can be adapted to mount the securing assembly to the utility pole.
Abstract:
A cap formed with a pan that defines a central dish which receives a portion of the securing members that secure the pan to a manhole opening. A cover closes over the central dish to restrict entry of water and dirt contaminants into the central dish. The cover and the central dish thereby define an enclosure for the securing members which connect the cap to the manhole cover.
Abstract:
An improved three-component velocity probe for use in measuring velocity of non-uniform gas flows. Specifically, a new probe geometry enables characterization of a flow in three dimensions in large scale applications. The three-component gas flow velocity probe is a cylinder having three equally spaced sensing ports located on the cylindrical surface in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder and having two recesses in the cylinder transverse of the length of the cylinder. The recesses are on the opposite sides of the three sensing ports and equally spaced from the sensing ports. The five sensing ports are connected to pressure sensing means remote from the probe to determine the gas flow velocity.
Abstract:
An example embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method of diagnosing root causes of anomalous AMI meter data. The method can include receiving meter data, identifying anomalous data in the meter data, comparing the anomalous data to a database of known root causes, and generating a work order if there is a known root causes of the anomalous data. The method can also include requesting manual review of anomalous data without a known root cause and receiving input indicating a discovered root cause. The method can add the discovered root cause to the database of known root causes.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for cooling hot gas streams in the temperature range 800° C. to 1600° C. using multi-stage circulating fluid bed (CFB) coolers is disclosed. The invention relates to cooling the hot syngas from coal gasifiers in which the hot syngas entrains substances that foul, erode and corrode heat transfer surfaces upon contact in conventional coolers. The hot syngas is cooled by extracting and indirectly transferring heat to heat transfer surfaces with circulating inert solid particles in CFB syngas coolers. The CFB syngas coolers are staged to facilitate generation of steam at multiple conditions and hot boiler feed water that are necessary for power generation in an IGCC process. The multi-stage syngas cooler can include internally circulating fluid bed coolers, externally circulating fluid bed coolers and hybrid coolers that incorporate features of both internally and externally circulating fluid bed coolers. Higher process efficiencies can be realized as the invention can handle hot syngas from various types of gasifiers without the need for a less efficient precooling step.
