Abstract: A far side side airbag device provided on the side part in the center in the width direction of a backrest portion SB of either of separated seats arranged in the width direction of a vehicle, which restrains the movement of an occupant P. A cushion and an inflator expands and deploys the cushion. The cushion has a first portion and a second portion that expand and deploy onto the front surface of each of the adjacent separated seats when a signal is received to restrain the occupant and capture the side part of the occupant, and a center portion provided in between the first portion and the second portion. A protruding part is formed on the center portion in order to capture the head of the occupant.

Abstract: A self-locking belt retractor for a seat belt device of a motor vehicle with a belt shaft body and a profile head, and a blocking device with a blocking catch mounted on the profile head. When activated, the blocking device engages in a blocked position with a vehicle-affixed interlock for the purpose of blocking the belt shaft in the belt extension direction. A force-limiting device is disposed in the force transmission path from the belt shaft body to the blocking catch. The profile head is made as two parts, with a carrier component and an insert component which are affixed together. The insert component exhibits a higher resistance to deformation than the carrier component and, when the belt shaft is blocked, forms part of the force transmission path between the blocking catch and the force-limiting device.

Abstract: An airbag device has an airbag that is wound in a rolled state, mounted in a vehicle longitudinal direction of a vehicle and deployable in a curtain-like manner in a vehicle compartment by a gas generated by an inflator in case of emergency. A cover cloth is provided so as to be wound to cover at least part of an outer circumference of the airbag extending in a longitudinal direction. The cover cloth has a first folded-back part that is formed by folding back one end of the cover cloth in a circumferential direction of the outer circumference of a cross section, which is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the folded airbag. An edge of the outer circumference of the airbag is held between the first folded-back part and the other end of the cover cloth.

Abstract: A vehicle radar system (2) that is arranged to detect a plurality of objects outside a vehicle (1) and that includes a radar detector (3) and a processing unit arrangement (4). Each detected object is classified as moving or stationary, and a relation is determined between the stationary detections and the total number of detections. The processing unit arrangement (4) further is adapted to determine whether the radar detector (3) is misaligned based on the relation, where the total detection angle (φdT, φdT′) equals the sum of a known mounting angle (φm) between the x-axis (7) and the radar detector's mounting direction (8), and a detection angle (φd, φd′). The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding method.

Abstract: A seatbelt retractor configured to ease the tightness of a seatbelt felt by an occupant when the occupant wearing the seatbelt reclines a seatback. An acceleration sensor 70 includes a sensor cover 71 which tilts with a seatback, a sensor housing 72 supported swingably with respect to the sensor cover 71 and having an inertial body support surface 78 and an inertial body 73 which is displaced when the acceleration reaches at least a prescribed value. The sensor housing 72 includes an external teeth part 84 having a plurality of external teeth 81 and 82 and a gap part 83 without external teeth. A lever member 90 is coupled to the shaft 22 of the spindle 20 by a friction coupling, and the lever member turns in a first direction in which an engagement part 92 is engaged with the external teeth part 84 when the spindle 20 rotates in a seatbelt drawing-out direction and turns in a second direction in which the engagement part 92 moves apart from the external teeth part 84 when the spindle 20 rotates in a seatbelt winding-up direction.

Resolution Means: A side airbag device 100 is provided with: a vertically long rear chamber 116, a front chamber 118 that is inflated and deployed forward and upward from the rear chamber 116, an inflator 108 contained within a rear part of the rear chamber 116, and a cloth-like first tether 112 that is provided outside of the rear chamber 116, has a front end 122 connected to a front edge portion 124 of the rear chamber 116, and has a rear end 126 connected to the rear part of the rear chamber 116, and which is tensioned when the rear chamber 116 is inflated and deployed. The rear chamber 116 has a smaller capacity than the front chamber 118, the first tether 112 is longer in the vertical direction than in the front-back direction, and the front end 122 of the first tether 112 is connected to a range that includes at least a lower end 146 of the front edge portion 124 of the rear chamber 116.
