Abstract:
Nanoporous polymers with gyroid nanochannels can be fabricated from the self-assembly of degradable block copolymer, polystyrene-b-poly(L-lactide) (PS-PLLA), followed by the hydrolysis of PLLA blocks. A well-defined nanohybrid material with SiO2 gyroid nanostructure in a PS matrix can be obtained using the nanoporous PS as a template for the sol-gel reaction. After subsequent UV degradation of the PS matrix, a highly porous inorganic gyroid network remains, yielding a single-component material with an exceptionally low refractive index (as low as 1.1).
Abstract:
A heat sink assembly comprises a base consisting of an aluminum casting and a copper base plate, a heat sink consisting of heat fins, and at least a heat guide pipe; the heat guide pipe has a heat dissipation section passing through the heat fins; the aluminum casting has a hollow receiving space accommodating the copper base plate, and an elongated recess is disposed at the top sides of the copper base plate and the casting for placing the heat conduction part of the heat guide pipe; the copper base plate keeps contact the heat source and the heat transmits to the heat guide pipe and then is dissipated with the heat sink via the base rapidly. In addition, the weight of the heat sink assembly is decreased, and the manufacturing cost is reduced.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for messaging within a mobile virtual and augmented reality system is provided herein. During operation a user can create “virtual graffiti” that will be left for a particular device to view as part of an augmented reality scene. The virtual graffiti will be assigned to a particular physical location or a part of an object that can be mobile. The virtual graffiti is then uploaded to a network server, along with the location and individuals who are able to view the graffiti as part of an augmented reality scene. When a device that is allowed to view the graffiti is near the location, the graffiti will be downloaded to the device and displayed as part of an augmented reality scene.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for easily creating virtual graffiti that will be left for a particular device to view. During operation a device will be placed near a first point that is used to define a boundary for the virtual graffiti. The device will locate the first point, and use the point to define the boundary. The device will receive an image that is to be used as virtual graffiti, and will fit the image within the boundary of the virtual graffiti. For example, the device may be consecutively placed near four points that will define a polygon to be used as the boundary for the virtual graffiti. An image will then be received, and the image will be fit within the polygon.
Abstract:
A blind image restoration method restores a motion blurred image and a blur kernel is estimated based on an intrinsic bi-level image region of the motion blurred image. In addition, the blur kernel is iteratively estimated. When the blur kernel is iteratively estimated, bi-level image priors are introduced to achieve better image restoration.
Abstract:
A SIM card fixing assembly is used for fixing a SIM card to an electronic device. The electronic device includes a housing. The SIM card fixing assembly includes a receiving portion defined in the housing, a rotary member and a latching member. The rotary member is rotatable relative to the housing. The latching member is slidably fixed to the rotary member. A side surface of the receiving portion defines a retaining groove to receive an end of the SIM card. The rotary member includes a latching portion. The latching member includes a first plate and a second plate extending from an edge of the first plate. The first plate includes a resilient hook extending toward to the second plate. The second plate defines a latching slot to receive the other end of the SIM card. When the latching member is slid relative to the rotary member, the other end of the SIM card is latched into the latching slot, the resilient hook is engaged with the latching portion.
Abstract:
A user can create “virtual graffiti” (203)” that will be left for a particular device to view as part of an augmented reality scene. The virtual graffiti will be assigned to a particular physical location or a part of an object that can be mobile. The virtual graffiti is then uploaded to a network server (101), along with the location and individuals who are able to view the graffiti as part of an augmented reality scene. When a device that is allowed to view the graffiti is near the location, the graffiti will be downloaded to the device and displayed as part of an augmented reality scene. To further enhance the user experience, the virtual graffiti can be dynamic, changing based on user's preferences.
Abstract:
An automobile steering wheel lock with an alarm includes a lock having a lock core with a chamber containing an alarm and at least one light hole. The alarm consists of a circuit board, a battery, a buzzer and a touch switch. The circuit board capable of sending signals has a warning light and a high-density LED light. Also, a help-signaling device is installed at a conspicuous location of a car and provided with at least one lamp panel. Each lamp panel is provided with a wireless receiver for receiving signals from the alarm and formed of luminescent lamps or LED lamps to show help signals. So, should the buzzer be moved by a burglar, it would sound immediately, spontaneously activating the high-density LED light to radiate toward the driver's seat and the lamp panel lit, achieving multiple anti-theft effects.
