Abstract:
A power supply circuit is provided for generating a low voltage for powering a control circuit. The power supply circuit is connected to a voltage source having a high voltage relative to the output voltage of the power supply circuit. The power supply circuit includes a power supply capacitor and a charging capacitor connected to the power supply capacitor which charges the power supply capacitor when the power supply circuit is connected to the high voltage source. The power supply also includes an inductor connected to the power supply capacitor which charges the power supply capacitor by resonant action when the power supply circuit is disconnected from the voltage source, so that the power supply capacitor is continuously charged. A pair of diodes are also provided. The first diode is connected between the charging capacitor and the power supply capacitor. The second diode is connected in series with the inductor. The power supply circuit further includes a zener diode connected to the power supply capacitor for regulating the voltage across the power supply capacitor.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer program product for building at least a portion of a motion picture on a computer system first monitors memory in the computer system for the creation of a frame of the motion picture. It consequently sets a flag in the computer system when it detects that the frame has been stored in the memory. Once the flag is set, the rendered frame is directed to a motion picture builder. Each frame in the portion of the motion picture being built is processed in this manner until the motion picture portion is formed.
Abstract:
A normalization circuit for a phase energization controller receives a rotor position value from a position encoder, and the normalization circuit obtains a normalized rotor position for each phase of a switched reluctance machine. Accordingly, the normalization circuit simplifies the detection of commutation positions for all the machine phases by reducing the commutation position determination to that of a single phase. Also, an initialization circuit for the phase energization controller energizes one or more phases of the switched reluctance motor to set the rotor of the switched reluctance motor to a preferred position to determine an offset value.
Abstract:
A retention system of a security screening tray is provided. The retention system embodies a netting that is fixed to a periphery of an opening of the security screening tray. The netting may be attached, by way of attachment points, on only two sides of the other rectangular perimeter of the opening.
Abstract:
A controller for an electromechanical transducer is provided. The controller comprises driving means operable to actuate a mechanical output of the transducer; impedance cancelling means operable to at least partially cancel an electrical impedance of the transducer; and linearising means between an input of the controller and the driving means. The linearising means are operable to generate an output signal by modifying an input signal of the linearising means to compensate for nonlinear behaviour of the transducer. The linearising means are operable to receive one or more state signals indicative of one or more state variables of the transducer, the one or more state signals comprising a velocity signal indicative of a velocity of the mechanical output of the transducer.
Abstract:
A seating system for watercraft having a base supporting a seating surface and a backrest pivotably attached to the base. The backrest pivots above the seating surface to provide a plurality of selectable seating positions. The backrest is pivotably attached to the base an arm attached to the side of the backrest. The arm engages a guide member attached to the base, the guide member having one or more positional slots corresponding to the plurality of selectable seating positions. The backrest can be positioned upright, at an angle, or flat with respect to the seating surface to provide a plurality of seating configurations including simultaneous forward and aft seats, an aft-facing lounge seat, and a sunpad. The seating surface comprises hingeable seat cushions permitted access to storage compartments inside the base. The seating system can be installed adjacent to a bulkhead on a watercraft to provide an aft-facing lounge seat.
Abstract:
A data processing system comprises a first clock domain having a first clock rate, a second clock domain having a second clock rate, and a data path operable to transfer data items from the first clock domain to the second clock domain. The data path comprises a buffer having an input for receiving data items from the first clock domain, and an output port for transmitting data items to the second clock domain in a first-in first-out manner. The buffer has a first pointer for indication of a current first location of the buffer, and a second pointer for indication of a current second location of the buffer. The system further includes a read controller operable to define a read pattern for the buffer, to control output from the buffer in dependence upon such a read pattern, and to adjust such a read pattern in dependence upon a value of such a first pointer for the buffer.
