Abstract: A motor temperature control system for an electric aircraft is provided. The motor temperature control system includes an electric motor, circuitry and a thermoelectric generator (TEG). The TEG is disposed in thermal communication with the electric motor. The TEG is electrically coupled to the circuitry such that heat generated by the electric motor is converted by the TEG to electrical energy that generates a voltage drop across the circuitry.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining a value profile of a controlled variable of an electrical system. Differences between predetermined values of an output variable at an end time and a determined value of the output variable at the end time are determined. A value profile of the controlled variable in the time interval is predetermined, the value profile being dependent on an end value at the end time and is being determined uniquely by the specification of the end value. Allowed values of the controlled variable are determined such that, when the electrical system is activated, the value of the output variable at the end time is equal to the determined difference. A curve of the allowed values of the controlled variable is determined on the basis of the allowed values of the controlled variable. A point of intersection of the determined curve and a predetermined derating function is determined. The value profile of the controlled variable within the time interval is determined as the value profile for which the end value of the value profile assumes the value of the controlled variable at the point of intersection.

Abstract: A driving apparatus includes: an inverter unit generating a three-phase alternating-current voltage from a direct-current voltage in accordance with a drive signal based on a voltage command and outputting the three-phase alternating-current voltage to a permanent-magnet motor, the permanent-magnet motor including a permanent magnet; a current detection unit detecting a motor current flowing through the permanent-magnet motor; and a control unit generating the voltage command to control an operation of the inverter unit and estimating a temperature of the permanent magnet to perform a protection operation on the inverter unit on the basis of the motor current and an overcurrent protection threshold. The control unit sets the overcurrent protection threshold on the basis of a magnet temperature estimated value of the permanent magnet and any one of a control computation period of the control unit, an output voltage frequency of the inverter unit, and a carrier frequency based on the output voltage frequency of the inverter unit.

Abstract: A controller for controlling flow of coolant to one or more components of a vehicle is disclosed. The controller determines respective amounts of heat expected to be rejected by the one or more components of the vehicle in a steady state of operation at current operating conditions of the one or more components, and generates a feedforward flow control signal based at least in part on the determined amounts of heat and a target temperature for the one or more components. The controller generates a controller output signal based at least in part on the feedforward control signal, and provides the controller output signal to the cooling system to control flow of coolant to the one or more components of the vehicle from the cooling system in accordance with the determined amounts of heat expected to be rejected by the one or more components of the vehicle.
