Abstract:
A multimedia middleware apparatus using metadata, a control method and a storage medium are provided which can receive metadata in multimedia middleware provided in a terminal, easily add/delete/change a service, and effectively maintain and manage middleware components. When an open multimedia terminal processes multimedia contents, a multimedia middleware service structure for expressing information of a name, configuration, version and application programming interface (API) update is configured in the form of metadata. Lists of standard and non-standard services of multimedia middleware are then generated and managed.
Abstract:
An RNC determines parameters available for measurement of a synchronization signal and second Node B information from a second Node B, transmits the determined parameters to a first Node B during radio link setup and to a UE during radio bearer setup, and transmits parameter selection information to the first Node B and the UE, if it is recognized that measurement of the synchronization signal and the second Node B information is necessary. The first Node B changes a position of a downlink time period over which a downlink channel is transmitted from the first Node B to the UE and a position of an uplink time period over which an uplink channel is transmitted from the UE to the first Node B, according to parameters selected from the parameters. The UE receives the synchronization signal and the second Node B information in the remaining time periods except the changed downlink time period and the changed uplink time period among the plurality of time periods.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for controlling a data rate by a user equipment (UE) that receives a scheduling command for uplink data transmission from a non-serving Node B in a mobile communication system that transmits packet data over an uplink are provided. A scheduling command receiver receives a down command for decreasing an allowable data rate of the UE from radio link sets (RLSs) of the non-serving Node Bs. A down command reception counter counts the number of down commands received from each of the RLSs for a predetermined hysteresis period. A down command execution counter counts the number of down commands executed for the hysteresis period. A down command execution decision unit compares the number of received down commands with the number of executed down commands, and determines whether to execute the down command according to the comparison result.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for configuring a TFCS in a mobile communication system are provided. TrCH configuration information and TFCS configuration information are received in a TrCH establishment message from an RNC. A CTFC set including all possible combinations of TFs of different transport channels is calculated according to the TrCH configuration information. A determination is made as to whether the TFCS configuration information includes a TFC-CTFC auto mapping indicator. If the TFCS configuration information includes the TFC-CTFC auto mapping indicator, CTFCs included in the CTFC set are mapped to TFCs in a one-to-one correspondence.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for giving notification that a User Equipment (UE) generates data of a buffer such that a Node B efficiently schedules uplink packet transmission in a mobile communication system for supporting the uplink packet transmission are provided. When data is generated from a logical channel that is configured not to perform a Buffer Status Report (BSR), the UE transmits a data generation start indication to the Node B, such that the Node B starts scheduling while considering the generated data.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for reporting a Buffer Status (BS) using Node B-estimated BS information in a mobile communication system are provided. A Node B-estimated BS and an actual BS of a User Equipment (UE) are monitored. A value of the Node B-estimated BS is compared with a first threshold value. If the Node B-estimated BS value is less than the first threshold, a determination is made as to whether the value of the actual BS is more than a second threshold. If the actual BS value is more than the second threshold, a Buffer Status Report (BSR) indicative of the actual BS is transmitted to a Node B.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus and method for retransmitting data in a mobile communication system. A MAC-h (Medium Access Control-high speed) layer transmits, to an RLC (Radio Link Control) layer, received data and information on whether a retransmission process on errored data is being performed, thereby to prevent the RLC layer from performing duplicated retransmission on the errored data.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for increasing the scheduling performance of a system supporting an uplink data service and total system stability by effectively UE status information to a Node B in a mobile communication system supporting the uplink data service are provided. UE status information including buffer occupancy information and transmit power status information is transmitted to a Node B periodically or upon generation of an event, irrespective of the presence or absence of uplink data to be transmitted. Since the buffer occupancy information and the transmit power status information are transmitted to the Node B by MAC-e signaling, physical channel resources are saved and E-DCH performance is improved.
Abstract:
A radio network controller (RNC) transmits a power offset for controlling transmission power of an uplink high-speed dedicated physical control channel (HS-DPCCH) when a user equipment (UE) enters a handover region, in a mobile communication system including the RNC, a Node B connected to the RNC, and the UE located in one of at least two cell areas occupied by the Node B. The Node B transmits data to the UE over a high-speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) and the UE transmits information indicating reception of the data to the Node B over the uplink HS-DPCCH. The RNC informs the UE of a power offset for determining a transmission power increment of the uplink HS-DPCCH, if it is determined that the UE is located in the handover region. The RNC informs the Node B of the power offset so that the Node B can determine a threshold value for determining information indicating reception of the data, depending on the power offset.
Abstract:
The present invention proposes a method of making use of Cell Broadcast to support MBMS transfer service announcement or service notification transfer. The method of transferring service announcement comprises the following steps: CBC commands UTRAN connected with it by a signaling message to send service announcement; UTRAN arranges the prescribed time of sending MBMS service announcement message, adds the brief description information to the schedule message and sends the schedule message; after receiving the schedule message, UE configures physical layer thereof to prepare for receiving MBMS service announcement message. UTARN sends MBMS service announcement message at the prescribed time.
