摘要: To exclude any unauthorized device from a system and thereby prevent illegal use of content data, a memory card 10 stores a service key Ksrv for encrypting content key data Kc in a hidden area 14. The memory card 10 stores answer data AC to be obtained when question data Q is fed to a host function F possessed by an authorized host device 20, with encryption applied to the answer data AC by the service key Ksrv. When the question data Q is provided to the host device 20, answer data AH is obtained based on the question data Q and the host function F. A comparison unit 122 judges match or mismatch of the answer data AH and the answer data AC. When they match, the memory card 10 decrypts the content key data Kc encrypted by the service key Ksrv and sends it to the host device 20.

摘要: A method is provided for generating a color chart for a printer, which color chart comprises a plurality of elements. The method comprises obtaining reference color data representing colors output by the printer, when the printer is in a reference state. Further, comparison color data representing colors output by the printer, when the printer is in another state is obtained. Differences in color between corresponding elements of the reference color data and the comparison color data are determined and at least one region of the output color space of the printer is classified as a linear region in which the differences vary substantially linearly. The method includes selecting colors of the elements of the color chart on the basis of the linear region.

摘要: Data in a storage medium not using an encryption double key scheme is transferred to a storage medium using an encryption double key scheme. A title key Kt encrypting content data C in an SD audio card SDa is further encrypted by a user key Kua generated in a key generating unit 23e, and is stored in a user data area 4 in an SD card SDq. The generated user key Kua is encrypted by a medium unique key Kmuq in the SD card SDq, and is stored in a protection area 3.

摘要: A biological material detection apparatus which detects a charged biological material such as a gene or protein contained in a sample liquid is disclosed. A biological material detection element includes a substrate, at least one first electrode formed on the substrate, and a plurality of second electrodes which are arrayed at predetermined intervals around the first electrode on the substrate along the circumferential direction and to which ligands that react with predetermined biological materials are respectively immobilized. A sample liquid is introduced toward the first electrode on the substrate. The introduced sample liquid is moved radially toward the second electrodes by electrical control.

摘要: An optical disk drive which is a data recording device or a data reproducing device having two movable members. The first movable member has two objective lenses on it. A magnetic circuit is secured to the second movable member to apply a magnetic field to the tracking coil attached to the first movable member. The first and second movable members can rotate around a shaft. The first objective lens or the second objective lens is selected and used in accordance with the type of the disk used. The device can therefore record data on or reproduce data from disk of different types. Further, since the angle at which the second movable member is inclined to the shaft remains unchanged, the device can record data on or reproduce data from a disk, without causing coma-aberration or the like, no matter whether the first object lens or the second objective lens is selected and used.
