摘要: A developing process excellent in the reproducibility of images is disclosed. In reproducing multiple fine lines, the line width can be kept uniform in the respective lines and front end chipping or rear end chipping can be prevented, and a high-density and high-quality image can be formed, by comprehensively setting developing conditions so that the relaxation time measured under dynamic conditions in an electric circuit comprising a developing sleeve, a surface of a photosensitive material and a developing layer interposed therebetween is set within a certain range; carrying out the sliding contact between the magnetic brush of the developer and the surface of the photosensitive material so that the frequency of the contact of a carrier with the photosensitive material is set within a certain range; or establishing a specific relation among the rotation number of the developing sleeve, the saturation magnetization of the magnetic carrier and the flux density of magnetic poles in the developing sleeve or further setting the contacting frequency of the carrier within a certain range.

摘要: A four-wheel steering system for a vehicle comprises a steering wheel, a front wheel turning mechanism for turning the front wheels in response to operation of the steering wheel, a rear wheel turning mechanism including a rear wheel steering ratio determining circuit for determining the rear wheel steering ratio and an actuator for turning the rear wheels according to the rear wheel steering ratio determined by the rear wheel steering ratio determining circuit. The four-wheel steering system is provided with a road condition sensor for detecting road surface conditions which can weaken the road gripping force of the wheels and a rear wheel steering ratio controller for changing the rear wheel steering ratio determined by the rear wheel steering ratio determining circuit so that the rear wheel steering ratio is increased when the road condition is such that the road gripping force of the wheels can be weakened.

摘要: A reflection mirror that causes an illumination light to be incident on a movable scale is oscillated in an X-axis direction based on a modulation signal. Accordingly, the optical path of the illumination light, of the illumination light and another illumination light generated at an index scale, periodically changes, and as a consequence, the illumination light is periodically modulated. Accordingly, an extra scanner that scans the illumination light or another illumination light with respect to the movable scale does not have to be arranged, which allows an apparatus to be reduced in size and cost.

摘要: A developing unit has a voltage-applicator (80) to apply a developing bias voltage to a developing roller (72). The voltage-applicator (80) applies the developing bias voltage for a first duration to apply an AC voltage having a rectangular waveform, and a second duration to stop applying the AC voltage. The AC voltage has a duty ratio of 50% or more in a direction for causing toner to develop an electrostatic latent image. The number of cycles of the AC voltage in the first duration is two or more, and the AC voltage has a voltage in a direction for pulling the toner back to the developing roller, just before transition to the second duration. The developing unit suppresses occurrence of image unevenness due to a fluctuation in developing gap. Thus, an image forming apparatus equipped with the developing unit forms a high-quality image while suppressing image unevenness.
