The invention relates to a method for providing service continuity with respect to a registration of a mobile terminal, UE, at a control server of an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network, while a CS-communication session between the UE and a switching server, MSC, of a circuit-switched, CS, network is established. The control server comprises a registration timer which is used for initiating a termination of the registration of the UE at the IMS network, when the registration timer expires, wherein the control server updates the registration timer in dependence of a control information received from the MSC. The invention further relates to a MSC providing such service.

The invention provides a solution for performing multicast for streaming transmission in a telecommunication system. An intermediate node is proposed which is able to connect the functionality of a broadcast/multicast server and of a streaming node. Further the intermediate node is responsible for the establishment of a bearer for multicast transmission. The establishment of a session is done by means of a translation the on-demand single-use signalling into multi-user push signalling. Furthermore an adaptation of the streaming flow for a whole multicast group or for individual subgroups of a multicast group is performed.

The present invention proposes a solution for providing IMS services to users having circuit-switched controlled terminals. In particular, it is proposed, in order to allow IMS to take the full call and service control, to combine circuit-switched and packet-based multimedia functionality in a new node type called Mobile Access Gateway Control Function (MAGCF). In particular the present invention provides a method for ensuring that the MAGCF node acts as a roaming anchor point in order to enforce the handling of originating and terminating calls in the IMS.

This new node combines the logical functionality of a cellular switching center and the logical functionality of IMS. The invention relates to a method for performing a flexible multicast of multicast data to a multicast group within a telecommunication system wherein the multicast data is provided by a broadcast/multicast server and transferred to the users registered to the multicast group by means of channels. In the invention multi-channel multicast groups (B1,B2, . . . ) are provided. Each multi-channel multicast group offers at least one channel wherein a channel transports content. The availability and configuration of the multi-channel multicast group is announced to the users by means of an announcement multicast group (A). The user either initiates the changing to an announced multi channel multicast group or the user is forced by the operator to change in case the operator wants to control the allocation of resources.
