Abstract:
An educational question and answer escape game combining the attributes of chance, knowledge and duel play to advance a player token from a start position to an end position along a game path. The game path has a plurality of interconnected path segments having a center section for movement along the game path and a ledge that defines a safety zone. The game has an antagonist element that moves on the game path to cause player tokens not on a safety zone to be redirected to the start position. A first chance mechanism controls the movement of the antagonist element along the center sections. The movement of a token along the center sections is controlled by a second chance mechanism. A token can be moved from the exposed center section to the safe zone by the player correctly answering a question or by operation of a third chance mechanism.
Abstract:
A wall support and reinforcing apparatus that applies a constant force on a structural support member, such as a steel I-beam, that is adjacent the wall. The apparatus includes a bias that is interposed between the building, or a bracket mounted to the building, and the structural member. Thus, the bias force is applied to straighten the wall at all times, thereby having the straightening effect and keeping the structural member from being displaced laterally due to complete release of all forces to the structural member.
Abstract:
Archery bow sights, and archery bows including same are described, the bow sight comprising a sight pin guard having a portion defining a sighting plane, a rotatable shaft having ends installed in the sight pin guard, and at least one sight pin having a connector end and a sight end, the connector end removably and adjustably installed on the rotatable shaft. Certain embodiments comprise a plurality of sight pins arranged on the rotatable shaft at different longitudinal and circumferential locations so that upon rotation of the shaft a different one of the sight pins is viewable in the plane defined by the sight pin guard. This abstract allows a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the disclosure. It may not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims. 37 CFR 1.72(b).
Abstract:
A gear change mechanism coupling a pair of shafts employs a planetary gear set comprising a sun gear fast with a first of the shafts, planet gears in a planet carrier, and an annulus or ring gear, the latter being fixed. A selector hub slidable on the other of the shafts has sets of radially spaced dogs to engage with corresponding dogs on the planet carrier and sun gear respectively, so as to couple the shafts at two different ratios depending on the axial position of the selector hub. This results in a more axially compact package than conventional dog clutch gear changers. In an alternative embodiment a reversing mechanism is provided by fixing the planet carrier and engaging the selector hub with the sun gear or annulus depending on its axial position.
Abstract:
An automotive vehicle includes a vehicle body and at least one reservoir containing a fire suppressant agent. A distribution system receives the fire suppression agent from the reservoir and conducts the agent to at least one location about the vehicle's body in response to the determination by a sensor system and controller that the vehicle has been subjected to a significant impact. The reservoir includes a discharge port which is positioned in part by a tensile member extending through the reservoir to an anchor incorporated in an external wall section of the reservoir.
Abstract:
The present invention provides compounds and pharmaceutical compositions that are selective antagonists of A2B adenosine receptors (ARs). These compounds and compositions are useful as pharmaceutical agents.
Abstract:
The invention provides novel methods of preparing substituted amino uracil compounds that can be employed as useful intermediates in the synthesis of various xanthines. Highly regioselective unsymmetrical amino uracils can be obtained using these methods which is a particular advantage over other existing methods.
Abstract:
An onboard fire suppression system for an automotive vehicle includes at least one reservoir containing a fire suppressant agent and a propellant, operatively associated with the reservoir, for expelling the fire suppressant agent from the reservoir. A distribution system for receiving fire suppressant agent expelled from said reservoir includes at least one feeder conduit which is connected with the reservoir by means of a quick connect coupler. The quick connect coupler facilitates assembly and servicing of the fire suppression system.
Abstract:
A packaging system and/or storage arrangement for limited life optical media that includes a provision to indicate the presence of oxygen and/or the amount of oxygen present. An oxygen-sensitive material is placed inside a sealable container. The oxygen-sensitive material will undergo a detectable change in the presence of oxygen and/or a detectable change occurs that will correspond to the amount of oxygen present in the sealable container. The detectable change provides an indication of the presence of oxygen and/or a measure of the amount of oxygen inside the sealable container.
Abstract:
Apparatuses, products, devices and methods of manufacture consistent with the invention include optically readable media with at least one mechanism, chemical, agent, and/or process for limiting the time period that at least a portion of encoded information can be read and/or accessed by an optical beam and/or reader capable of reading the encoded information.
