摘要： An image signal recording device in which one frame is divided into an upper half frame and a lower half frame by a straight line parallel to horizontal scanning lines forming the frame. 摘要： In a sheet discharger with a simple structure, the subsequently discharged sheet can be stored under such a condition that this subsequently discharged sheet is overlapped on the rear surface of the previously discharged sheets. The sheet discharger includes a vertical type sheet discharge tray inclined backwardly along an upper direction; an discharge roller apparatus having a front side discharge roller and a rear side discharge roller, which are arranged at a lower end portion of the vertical type sheet discharge tray. The vertical type sheet discharging tray includes a rear surface supporting member for supporting a rear surface of an discharged sheet, a bottom member for supporting a lower end of the discharged sheet, and a front surface supporting member for defining a forward position of the lower end of the discharged sheet. The bottom member is arranged in front of said discharge roller apparatus, further includes sheet rear end position control means for positioning a rear end of a sheet discharged to the vertical type sheet discharge tray over said bottom member.

摘要： A liquid crystal composition includes at least one fluorine-containing mesomorphic compound (a) having a fluorocarbon terminal portion and a hydrocarbon terminal portion, and at least one optically active compound (b) having at least one substituted or unsubstituted terminal alkyl group containing an asymmetric carbon atom directly connected with F, CF.sub.3 or CH.sub.3. The liquid crystal composition shows a layer structure of so-called bookshelf or a layer structure having a small inclination angle (closer to bookshelf structure). The liquid crystal composition is useful in improving response characteristics and display characteristics, particularly a contrast ratio, of a liquid crystal device using the liquid crystal composition.

摘要： A still video device in which image signals corresponding to one frame are divided into a plurality of parts. The divided image signals are stored in memory recording areas. The divided image signals are time-expanded to be recorded in a magnetic disk, and further, the divided image signals may be time-expanded and subsampled to be recorded in the magnetic disk. Due to this time-expansion or subsampling, the bandwidth of the image signals recorded in the magnetic disk is narrower than image signals inputted to the still video device. Namely, image signals having a bandwidth broader than that of the inputted image signals can be recorded in the magnetic disk.

摘要： A first reference signal having a predetermined frequency is added to a video signal for a predetermined period of time. A second reference signal is further added to the video signal such that it delimits a starting point and length of the video information. The video signal, with the added reference signals, is recorded on a recording medium, such as a magnetic disk rotated by a spindle motor. The recorded video signal with the added reference signals is reproduced from the recording medium, and the first reference signal is extracted from the video signal. The video signal is stored in a memory using the timing characteristics of the extracted first reference signal, and stored over a time period which is based upon the second reference signal. The stored video signal is then read from the memory using a known clock rate. The first reference signal extracted from the reproduced video signal contains jitter information representative of speed fluctuations of the spindle motor. Thus, the jitter of the video signal is eliminated when the video signal is stored in the memory on the basis of the timing characteristics of the first reference signal.

The ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head with a plurality of discharge ports and a liquid chamber common to the discharge ports. The liquid chamber is supplied with ink through an ink supply path from an ink tank. The recovery device includes a device for introducing air into the liquid chamber of the recording head, a cap unit for covering the discharge ports of the recording head, and a pumping device for applying suction to the cap unit to suck the introduced air and ink through the discharge ports.
