摘要: A female terminal has an electrical contact portion of a cross-sectionally square, tubular configuration, and one wall of this electrical contact portion serves as a retaining wall. A retaining hole is formed through the retaining wall generally centrally of the width thereof, and a notch of a rectangular shape is formed in a central portion of this retaining wall at a front end thereof. Slanting piece portions are formed at the front end of the female terminal, and are disposed respectively on opposite sides of the notch, the slanting piece portions being curved inwardly relative to the cross-sectionally square, tubular portion. When the female terminal is inserted into a terminal receiving chamber in a housing, the slanting piece portions, provided respectively on the opposite side of the notch, elastically deforms an elastic retaining lance provided in the housing, and when the retaining lance becomes fitted in the retaining hole, the female terminal is retained in a predetermined position in the housing.

摘要: A lock detecting structure of connector comprises: a male connector housing (100) formed with a deformable lock arm (105) having a lock projection (112), and with two slider stoppers (150); a female connector housing (200) mated with the male connector housing (100) and formed with a lock claw (210) engaged with the lock projection of the male connector housing, and a slider release projection (206); and a slider (300) slidable inserted into the male connector housing (100) and stopped at a temporary engage position due to engagement of the slider with the lock projection (112) and the two slider stoppers (150) of the male connector housing. When the male connector housing (200) is perfectly mated with the female connector housing (100) and thereby the slider is deformed inward away from the lock projection (112) and the slider stoppers (150) of the male connector housing by the lock claw (210) and the slider release projection (206) of the female connector housing (200), the slider can be further inserted deep into the female connector housing (200) to a lock confirmation position. In particular, since the two slider stoppers (150) are formed inside the male connector housing and therefore the slider can be stopped within the male connector housing, it is possible to reliably detect the connector housing lock conditions, without being subjected to the influence of an external force applied to the slider.

摘要: A wire pressing method and apparatus for a pressure terminal using a pressing punch to connect a wire to pressing blades of the pressure terminal. The pressing punch has a pressing section for press-fitting the wire and is vertically movable. A pair of walls extending in a pressing direction are arranged on both sides of the pressing section, and the pressing blades of the pressure terminal are located between the walls at the time of a pressing operation. In this manner the wire is press-fitted into the pressing blades by the pressing section while both the walls are prevented by the pressing blades from expanding outwardly. The wire pressing method and apparatus can also be used to connect a wire to pressing blades of the pressure terminal when the terminal is received in a connector housing. This is done by retaining the side walls of the terminal receiving chamber such that the side walls will not expand outwardly during the pressing operation.

摘要: A solderless terminal for interconnecting a terminal to a lead wire in which the terminal has superior mechanical strength to enable the plate material used in manufacturing the terminal to have a minimum thickness thus reducing the overall size and weight of the terminal. The solderless terminal includes an electrical contact portion engageable with a mating connecting terminal and a conductor connecting portion having at least two core-wire contact slots longitudinally spaced from each other. Each of the core-wire contact slots is defined by a pair of opposing conductor clamping blades adapted to cut an insulating cover of a lead wire and retain the conductor of the lead wire to thereby electrically connect the terminal to the conductor. The terminal also includes first and second constricted portions each having a cubic shape defined by a bottom plate and opposing side walls which are bent inwardly to form right and left reinforcing walls. The conductor connecting portion has right and left side walls to accommodate a part of the lead wire. The end portions of the right and left side walls are bent inwardly substantially in the same direction as the reinforcing walls of the constricted portions to form the conductor clamping blades.

The terminal protecting plate is provided with a plane section having terminal support holes each corresponding in position to the terminal receiving holes of the first connector housing, and a pair of housing indicators each erected upright on both end sides of the underside of the plane section. An opening is formed in the central part of the plane section so as to receive the bolt holder formed in the central front part of the first connector housing.

摘要: Disclosed is a hinge connecting mechanism for connecting a connector housing to a lid in a hinged fashion via a hinge portion integrally molded with the connector housing with a small thickness. The hinge connecting mechanism assures that a malfunction does not arise where the hinge portion is undesirably broken or torn away from the container as the lid is repeatedly opened and closed. A plate member connected to a connector housing in a hinged fashion includes a hinge extension having the same width as that of a hinge portion, while extending in continuation from the hinge portion. The hinge extension is formed on a surface of the plate member adapted to face an upper wall of the connector housing when the plate member is closed.

摘要: In the present invention, a terminal retainer is mounted on a rear portion of a connector housing so as to move in a two-stage manner, that is, between a provisionally-connected condition and a completely-connected condition, and a metal terminal can be immediately withdrawn in the provisionally-connected condition and can be positively engaged with metal terminals. According to the present invention, flexible support pieces each having a terminal retaining projection having a tapered relief engagement surface for a metal terminal are provided on a terminal retainer. A provisionally-retaining projection for provisionally retaining the terminal retainer is provided at a connector housing. In the provisionally-connected condition of the terminal retainer, by pulling the metal terminal, the terminal retainer is retracted via the tapered relief engagement surfaces, and at the same time the flexible support piece is caused to slide onto the retaining projection to be disposed out of the path of movement of the metal terminal.

摘要: An object of the present invention resides in providing a connector which assures that clearance between an engagement projection of a flexible engagement piece projecting from the inner wall of each terminal accommodating chamber of a connector housing and an engagement hole of a terminal is minimized, and moreover, each terminal is properly inserted into the corresponding terminal accommodating chamber with a higher intensity of engaging force. According to the present invention, a connector includes a plurality of terminals each of which one end serves as an electrical contact portion having an engagement hole formed on a base plate and of which other end serves as a cable connecting portion. In addition, the connector includes a connector housing having a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers formed therein. A flexible engagement piece having an engagement projection formed at the foremost end thereof is projected from each terminal accommodating chamber, and the engagement projection serves as engaging means for allowing the engagement hole of the terminal to be engaged with the engagement projection. An upper surface is formed on the engagement projection while slantwise downwardly extending toward the cable connecting portion of the terminal. In addition, tapered portions are formed along ridge lines where the upper surface intersects both side surfaces.

摘要: A waterproof connector includes a female connector housing and a cylindrical packing holder. The female connector housing has a peripheral edge of an opening through which a male connector housing is inserted. The packing holder has a peripheral edge of an opening. This peripheral edge contacts the inside of the peripheral edge of the opening in the female connector housing. The peripheral edge of the opening in the packing holder has end portions formed by partially cutting the packing holder. Recesses are formed in the end portions on the peripheral edge of the opening in the packing holder. Projections are formed on portions of the female connector housing, which portions correspond to the end portions of the packing holder. The projections are fitted into the recesses so as to join the packing holder and the female connector housing. When the packing holder is inserted into the female connector housing, the peripheral edge of the opening in the packing holder is joined integrally with the peripheral edge of the opening in the female connector housing. Thus, when the male connector is fitted, it is mated smoothly with the female connector housing without causing the end portions of the peripheral edge of the packing holder to hinder mating.

摘要: An improved electrical connector is described herein. The electrical connector comprises a female connector member having including a plurality of electrical terminals therein and a male connector member including a plurality of electrical terminals therein. The male connector member is adapted to fit to the female connector member to establish electrical connection between the terminals of these connector members. The electrical connector further includes a connecting member for establishing electrical connection among at least two of the terminals of one of the connector members to constitute a branch circuit among wires connected to these terminals. The connecting member is adapted to be removably fitted between the at least two electrical terminals, and to achieve electrical connection therebetween through the connecting member when the connecting member is fitted.
