摘要： A method of manufacturing a waterproof connector housing, that enables the formation of a uniform packing ring which is an integral part of the housing by engaging a hollow body of a housing with a trapezoidal engaging portion provided on a male mold, holding the housing by contacting tightly an inner wall of the hollow body with the trapezoidal engaging portion to align the center of the male mold with that of the housing, and injecting a rubber material into a packing ring forming space uniformly defined by one of both of the male and female mold through a rubber supply paths of the housing. The housing having the hollow body with tapered shoulder, a male mold having the trapezoidal engaging portion and a female mold beveled or thinned at the open edge are employed for implementing the method.

The first housing includes a first slope defining the insert opening for guiding the distal end of the male terminal in the second housing toward a fitting part of the female terminal into which the male terminal is fitted and an inside wall for encompassing the female terminal and for defining an escape room around the female terminal. Also, the first housing includes a second slope in the front wall which extends from the open end of the insert opening toward the escape room for guiding the male terminal in the second housing toward the escape room when the male terminal is deformed and does not enter the insert opening.

摘要： Disclosed is a terminal retainer mounted on a rear portion of a connector housing so as to move in a two-stage manner, that is, between a provisionally-connected condition and a completely-connected condition, and in the completely-connected condition the terminal retainer can be positively engaged with metal terminals. Flexible support pieces for metal terminals are provided on a terminal retainer. A flexible retaining piece for the metal terminal is provided at each terminal receiving chamber. In the provisionally-connected condition of the terminal retainer, the flexible support piece is placed on a push-up projection of the connector housing to be held out of a path of movement of the metal terminal within the terminal receiving chamber. When the terminal retainer shifts to the completely-connected condition, a driven projection on the flexible support piece is engaged in a drive groove in the connector housing to forcibly drive the flexible support piece into engagement with the metal terminal.

摘要： In a primary molding step, a connector housing having a hood portion is molded. In a secondary molding step, an elastic seal ring is molded on an inner side of the hood portion. Through holes are formed in the connector housing in the primary molding step which allow an elastic material to flow therethrough from a seal ring-forming portion on the inner side of the hood portion to an outer side of the hood portion, and which retain part of the seal ring formed at the seal ring-forming portion when the elastic material is cured. An air reservoir portion is formed in a secondary mold, which communicates with outer open ends of the through holes in the connector housing in the secondary molding step.

摘要： One connector housing includes a resilient locking arm having a through-hole provided at its tip, a pair of detection terminals attached to said resilient locking arm and opposed to the through-hole, a first spring portion provided on the side of a warping space of the resilient locking arm and inserted between the resilient locking arm and the pair of detection terminals, the first spring portion having a protrusion to be engaged in said through-hole so as to force the locking arm in an anti-warping direction, and a second spring portion always forcing said resilient locking arm in the anti-warping direction. Another connector housing includes an engagement protrusion which is to be engaged in the through-hole to push the protrusion, thereby warping the first spring portion in an anti-forcing direction to be brought into contact with the pair of detection terminals. Thus, connector fitting of one and another connector housings can be surely detected electrically. The fitting detection connector can have a buffer spring member which is arranged between the contact portion and intrusion protrusion of the first spring portion.

摘要： In a waterproof connector housing, an elastic seal ring is integrally formed on an inner side of a hood formed at a front end of a housing body through a first stepped portion, and is retained in position by retaining piece portions. A second stepped portion is formed in the hood at a proximal end, and through holes are formed in the hood. The through holes have a transverse hole extending to a point, disposed generally centrally of a thickness of a peripheral wall of the hood, in parallel relation to a distal end surface of the step portion, and a longitudinal hole extending from the transverse hole in a direction of fitting of the housing to further extend through the first stepped portion to be open to the exterior. The retaining piece portion has a transverse portion and a longitudinal portion which are filled in the through hole. The transverse portion is projected at a distal end portion of the elastic seal ring.

The hinge extension is formed on a surface of the plate member adapted to face an upper wall of the connector housing when the plate member is closed.

According to the present invention, flexible support pieces each having a terminal retaining projection having a tapered relief engagement surface for a metal terminal are provided on a terminal retainer. A provisionally-retaining projection for provisionally retaining the terminal retainer is provided at a connector housing. In the provisionally-connected condition of the terminal retainer, by pulling the metal terminal, the terminal retainer is retracted via the tapered relief engagement surfaces, and at the same time the flexible support piece is caused to slide onto the retaining projection to be disposed out of the path of movement of the metal terminal.

摘要： An object of the present invention resides in providing a connector which assures that clearance between an engagement projection of a flexible engagement piece projecting from the inner wall of each terminal accommodating chamber of a connector housing and an engagement hole of a terminal is minimized, and moreover, each terminal is properly inserted into the corresponding terminal accommodating chamber with a higher intensity of engaging force. According to the present invention, a connector includes a plurality of terminals each of which one end serves as an electrical contact portion having an engagement hole formed on a base plate and of which other end serves as a cable connecting portion. In addition, the connector includes a connector housing having a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers formed therein. A flexible engagement piece having an engagement projection formed at the foremost end thereof is projected from each terminal accommodating chamber, and the engagement projection serves as engaging means for allowing the engagement hole of the terminal to be engaged with the engagement projection. An upper surface is formed on the engagement projection while slantwise downwardly extending toward the cable connecting portion of the terminal. In addition, tapered portions are formed along ridge lines where the upper surface intersects both side surfaces.
