    摘要: A cable connection unit for a connection box is provided including a cable, which has at least two electrical conductors surrounded by a cable sheath; a cable seal, which radially surrounds the cable sheath; and a cable organizer, in which the at least two electrical conductors are held in a fanned-out arrangement. A matching connection box has at least one receiving region for the cable connection unit, in which the cable seal and the cable organizer can each be placed. A cover of the connection box may then be folded down, whereby the electrical conductors of the cable are pressed into respective insulation displacement contacts of the connection region and thereby electrically contacted.

    摘要: The invention concerns a production line consisting of an automated system for the realization of the industrial wiring of IDC connectors. A first station includes a selection guide accommodating a series of IDC connectors, and a series of pushers for shifting the series of connectors to a paired closure guide for closing the connectors of a second station. The closure guide has a series of mobile spacer partitions interposed between each of several seats, configured to release the connectors by moving said partitions as soon as the connectors are crimped onto cable wires. A third crimping station comprising a series of punches spaced apart from each other at a pre-set distance on a mobile support, which can move to pull each connector the pre-set distance until it brings an adjacent punch into position at an adjacent connector to be crimped.

    摘要: An intraoperative multichannel brain probe is presented. The brain probe has a cylindrical upper stainless steel section attached to a lower cylindrical section. In the lower section, an outer cylindrical tube surrounds a second insulating tube. Electrically recording/stimulating wires are placed between the outer tube and the second tube. Each wire has one end protruding out a hole in the outer tube. The other end of each wire is threaded through the entire probe and electrically connected to a recording or stimulating device through a connector system. A number of insulating tubes and electrodes located inside the second tube may also be part of the brain probe. Each inner electrode, typically two, is insulated from each other and from the second insulating tube by other insulating tubes. The combination of one or more wires and electrodes provides a multi-functional device. The brain probe is capable of providing multichannel stimulation and/or recording of brain functions and up to 128 individual electrode conducting sites.

    摘要: An electrical connector for mechanically and electrically connecting first and second cables, each including an elongate electrical conductor covered by an insulation layer, includes a connector body, an electrically conductive first insulation piercing feature on the connector body, an electrically conductive second insulation piercing feature on the connector body and electrically connected to the first insulation piercing feature, and a compression mechanism. The first insulation piercing feature is configured to pierce through the first insulation layer and electrically engage the first electrical conductor. The second insulation piercing feature is configured to pierce through the second insulation layer and electrically engage the second electrical conductor. The compression mechanism is configured and operable to apply a clamping load along a clamping axis extending through both of the first and second electrical conductors to force the first and second insulation piercing features into electrical engagement with the first and second electrical conductors, respectively.

    摘要: Aspects of the disclosure relate generally to a connector including a housing with a severing device and a pair of wire taps built into the housing. For example, the severing device may sever the electrical connection along one or more wires placed inside the connector. The pair of wire taps may patch into the severed ends of the wires, intercepting any signal transmitted through the wires, and patching any signal transmitted along the wire tap into the severed wires. The wire taps may further be connected to an intermediate device, placing the intermediate device in series with the ends of the severed wire. The connector may also include a switching device between the first and second wire taps. When the switching device is closed, the switching device may directly connect the wire taps, shorting out the intermediate device and effectively reestablishing the direct electrical connection between the severed wire ends.
