    Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting a reference signal from a User Equipment (UE) are provided. The method includes transmitting a first reference signal using a sequence determined from an identity of the at least one transmission point and transmitting a second reference signal with a transmission power having an offset with a first maximum value configured by higher layer signaling from the at least one transmission point; and transmitting a first reference signal using a sequence configured to the UE by higher layer signaling from the at least one transmission point and transmitting a second reference signal with a transmission power having an offset with a second maximum value configured by higher layer signaling from the at least one transmission point, wherein the second maximum value is larger than the first maximum value, and the first reference signal and the second reference signal are either identical or non-identical.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus method are provided for transmitting uplink information including acknowledgement information in a wireless communication system. The method includes coding, by a terminal, uplink data and the acknowledgement information by using different coding schemes respectively; multiplexing, by the terminal, the coded uplink data and the coded acknowledgement information into the uplink information; and transmitting, by the terminal, the uplink information using resources. At least a portion of the uplink data is transmitted based on a first resource and the acknowledgement information is transmitted based on a second resource. The first resource and the second resource are adjacent to each other with respect to a time domain and a frequency domain. The acknowledgement information is located immediately adjacent to a pilot for the uplink data, and the pilot is used for demodulation of the uplink data.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for wireless communications. Configuration information comprising a resource start offset is received. Downlink control information (DCI) transmitted using a first antenna port of a base station is received on an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH) using at least one of control channel elements (CCEs). A resource of a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) is determined based on a first CCE of the at least one of the CCEs, the first antenna port, information in the DCI, and the resource start offset in the configuration information, in response to a transmission type of the EPDCCH being localized transmission. A hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) signal is transmitted on the resource to the base station.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for a Node B to transmit Reference Signals (RS) from multiple antennas to enable User Equipments (UEs) to perform demodulation of received information signals and to estimate Channel Quality Indication (CQI) metrics. To minimize overhead and enable backward compatible operation with legacy systems, RS from a first set of Node B antennas are transmitted in every transmission time interval and substantially over the whole operating BandWidth (BW). RS from a second set of Node B antennas serving for CQI estimation are periodically transmitted, substantially over the whole operating BW, with transmission period informed to UEs through broadcast signaling by the Node B and starting transmission sub-frame determined from the identity of the cell served by the Node B. RS from the second set of antennas, and new RS from the first set of antennas, serving for demodulation of information signals have substantially the same BW as the information signals which can be smaller than the operating BW.

The method includes monitoring a first search space and a second search space on a primary component carrier, to receive a scheduling assignment including information indicating a component carrier on which data is transmitted, wherein a scheduling assignment for the primary component carrier is received in the first search space, and a scheduling assignment for a secondary component carrier is received in the second search space; and receiving the data on one of the primary component carrier and the secondary component carrier.
