摘要： A data transmission apparatus includes a packet generation section, a frame encoding section, a transmission section, a reception section, a frame decoding section and a packet extraction section. The packet generation section generates a packet upon request. The frame encoding section generates a frame having a predetermined length by dividing the packet or adding dummy data to the packet and generates an error-correcting-code-added frame by adding an error correcting code to the frame. The transmission section transmits the generated error-correcting-code-added frame through a transmission line. The reception section receives the error-correcting-code-added frame. The frame decoding section performs an error detection and an error correction for the error-correcting-code-added frame. The packet extraction section extracts the packet by removing the error correcting code from the error-correcting-code-added frame for which the error detection and the error correction have been performed.

摘要： An apparatus includes a recording head having nozzle chips arranged in a staggered configuration along a second direction that intersects a first direction in which a sheet is conveyed, a first suction portion corresponding to a first row of nozzle chips in the staggered configuration, and a second suction portion corresponding to a second row of nozzle chips. The first suction portion and the second suction port are in a positional relationship in which they are displaced in the second direction so as to correspond to displacement between a first nozzle chip in the first row and its neighboring second nozzle chip in the second row in the second direction. The apparatus further includes a positioning member having a plurality of reference surfaces for use in positioning the recording head at different locations in a third direction that intersects the first direction and the second direction.

摘要： A liquid crystal display having a wide viewing angle and easily manufactured. The liquid crystal display comprises an upper substrate and a lower substrate, and a liquid crystal material disposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. The liquid crystal display has a conductive protrusion disposed on the surface of the upper substrate opposing to the lower substrate. The conductive protrusion is disposed over a scanning electrode line or a signal electrode line and has the same potential as that of the upper electrode. As another structure, each of pixel electrodes on the lower substrate has a smaller area than that of a common electrode on the upper substrate and is covered by the common electrode, and each of the pixel electrodes comprises an electrode portion having approximately symmetrical shape.

摘要： A cleaning mechanism has a slider moving together with a carriage and a suction cap provided on the slider to cap one of print heads mounted on the carriage to perform suction therefrom. A first contact portion and a second contact portion are provided in each of the carriage and the slider, and a third contact portion and a fourth contact portion are provided in the slider. In the case that the suction cap performs suction from a black head, when the carriage moves toward the cleaning mechanism side, the first contact portion and the third contact portion come into contact with each other to position the carriage and the slider in such a manner that the suction cap faces the black head. On the other hand, in the case that the suction cap performs suction from a color head, when the carriage moves toward the cleaning mechanism side, the second contact portion and the fourth contact portion come into contact with each other to position the carriage and the slider in such a manner that the suction cap faces the color head.
