    摘要: An electrographic copying machine of the powder image transfer type in which a channel for transporting the developer recovered by a cleaner to a developing unit includes an assembly for removing foreign matter from the developer. The developing unit is adapted to develop latent electrostatic images with a magnetic developer which is a mixture of finely divided insulating toner and a magnetic carrier having small size particles and a resistivity of at least 10.sup.13 ohm-cm. The assembly has a nonmagnetic hollow cylindrical member for guiding the developer, a magnetic transport member disposed within the cylindrical member for transporting the developer, a foreign matter removal opening formed in the lower wall of the cylindrical member, and magnets for forming a magnetic field for attracting the magnetic carrier contained in the portion of the developer positioned in the vicinity of the opening upwardly in the cylindrical member.

    摘要: A dry process developing apparatus for use in an electrophotographic copying machine which includes a developing non-magnetizable sleeve and a multipolar magnet member arranged to be rotated in the same direction at different speeds, the speed of rotation of the developing sleeve causing movement of those particles of the developing material which at the most are only slightly affected by the multipolar magnet member in the direction of rotation of the sleeve, and the speed of rotation of the multipolar magnet causing the movement of particles of developing material affected by the magnet around the sleeve in a direction of rotation opposite that of the magnet and at a speed greater than the speed of the developing sleeve. Scraping members are provided for sliding contact with the peripheral surface of the developing sleeve in the directions against and following the direction of rotation of the developing sleeve.

    摘要: An electrophotographic copier having an endless photoconductive belt whose circumference is an integral multiple of one dimension of each of two sizes of exposure areas corresponding to two sizes of copy paper. A set of cams for each size of copy paper operates switches to control the operation for that paper size. At the end of each exposure cycle the belt is positioned so that the next exposure is made on a different area of the belt and so that the image is not located over the seam or joint in the belt. The belt is charged at the end of every copying cycle so that the next cycle can begin with immediate exposure, and the size of the area charged is set automatically when the size of the copy is selected.

    摘要: A separating device for copy paper sheets for use in a photocopying apparatus includes a long, thin separating tape of an insulating material which is disposed lengthwise, in the direction of advance of a copy paper sheet, between one side edge of the photoreceptor surface and the corresponding side edge of the copy paper sheet to be separated, and a pick-off thread or string of an insulating material stretched diagonally and slantwise across the plane into which the copied paper sheet is fed. One side of the copied paper sheet is initially separated by the separating tape, and as the sheet is further delivered, it passes under the pick-off thread so as to be wholly peeled off the photoreceptor surface.
