    摘要: A light source device includes: a light source lamp that has a light-emitting portion and sealing sections provided on both sides of the light-emitting portion; a reflector that aligns and irradiates a light beam radiated by the light source lamp in a predetermined direction; and a sub-reflection mirror of which reflection surface opposes to a reflection surface of the reflector and reflects the light beam radiated by the light-emitting portion of the light source lamp toward the reflector. In the sub-reflection mirror, an adhesion surface of an insertion hole is bonded to the sealing section by an adhesive in a condition that the sealing section is inserted in the insertion hole. A cutting portion of the sub-reflection mirror is so formed to extend over a portion bonded by the adhesive in plan view.

    摘要: A light source device includes a light-emitting tube and a reflector. The light-emitting tube has a light-emitting portion that generates a light beam by an electric discharge between electrodes, and sealing portions provided on both sides of the light-emitting portion. The light-emitting tube has a sub-reflection mirror that covers substantially a front half of the light-emitting portion. The reflector has a neck portion provided with an insertion hole to which the light-emitting tube is inserted, and a reflecting portion integrally formed with the neck portion and having an ellipsoidal curved reflecting surface that irradiates the light beam emitted by the light-emitting portion to align the light beam in a predetermined direction. The opening diameter of the insertion hole on the side of the reflecting surface is greater than the external diameter of the sub-reflection mirror and within the internal diameter of a valid reflection area of the reflector.

    摘要: A light source device includes: a light-emitting tube including a light-emitting portion that generates a light beam by an electric discharge between electrodes and sealing portions provided on both sides of the light-emitting portion; a reflector including a neck portion provided with an insertion hole to which the light-emitting tube is inserted, and a reflecting portion integrally formed with the neck portion and having an ellipsoidal curved reflecting surface that irradiates forward the light beam emitted by the light-emitting portion and aligns the light beam in a predetermined direction. The light-emitting tube has a sub-reflection mirror that covers substantially front half of the light-emitting tube. The insertion hole has a diameter that is enlarged from the base end thereof toward the distal end in a light irradiation direction. The opening diameter of the insertion hole on the side of the reflecting surface is greater than the external diameter of the sub-reflection mirror while the opening internal diameter is within the diameter of a valid reflection area of the reflector, the diameter being defined by a front focal position of the reflector and the outer periphery of the sub-reflection mirror.

    摘要: To reduce or prevent adhesive particles from being scattered toward a light-emitting portion of an arc tube and an auxiliary reflecting surface of an auxiliary mirror even when an inorganic adhesive injected for fixing the auxiliary mirror to the arc tube is boiled, a method of manufacturing a light source lamp includes: setting a light-reflecting surface of the auxiliary mirror so as to face the light-emitting portion of the arc tube and injecting an adhesive into a gap between the auxiliary mirror and the arc tube; heating and curing the adhesive from a side nearer to the light-emitting portion of the arc tube; and attaching the reflector to the arc tube with the auxiliary mirror fixed thereto. For example, a heated air blowoff and light irradiation toward the adhesive form the side nearer to the light-emitting portion of the arc tube may be performed. Further, a projector includes: an illumination system with the light source lamp; an optical modulator; and a projector lens.

A projector includes: an illumination optical system; an electro-optical device for modulating light from the illumination optical system in response to image information; a projection optical system for projecting modulated light obtained with the electro-optical device and a base frame, formed using material including metal material, for mounting a plurality of optical components arranged on an optical path from the illumination optical system to the projection optical system. At least one of the plurality of optical components is a polarization control component that includes: a polarization control element including organic material for the controlling polarization state of light exiting from the polarization control element; and a light-transmissive member having a thermal conductivity of at least about 0.8 W/(m·K), to which the polarization control element is stuck. The light-transmissive member and the base frame are thermally coupled.

The arc tube has encapsulations one of which is inserted in a cylinder of the reflection mirror thereby securing the encapsulation and the cylinder together by an adhesive. The bulb of the arc tube and the other encapsulation are positioned on a side close to a reflection surface of the reflection mirror. The encapsulation inserted in the cylinder and positioned on a side opposite to the reflection surface has an end at least at an end face of which is covered with the adhesive thereby providing light shield.
