摘要： A sheet feeding device having a tray on which a plurality of sheets are stacked, includes a feeder for feeding the stacked sheets through contact therewith, a separator provided downstream in the feeding direction of the feeder for separating sheets one by one from the stack of sheets and at least a pair of conveyance rollers provided downstream of the separator for conveying the separated sheet. A detector detects the size of the stacked sheets. A pressing device presses the sheets, and a contact pressure between the feeder and the sheets is adjustable. A sheet edge detector provided downstream of the separator detects an edge of each of the separated sheet, and respective drivers drive the feeder, the pressing device and the conveyance rollers. A controller controls the driver. A table in which a plurality of variable and selectable pressure forces appliable by the pressing device are set according to a detected sheet size. The controller controls the driver according to a set value of the table.

摘要： An exposure control device for use in a copying apparatus capable of performing two kinds of exposure modes wherein the first mode is a stationary exposure mode in which information on a document is read out by moving an optical scanner while the document is kept stationary, and the second mode is a synchronized exposure mode in which information on a document is read out by moving the document in synchronization with the movement of a photoreceptor while the optical scanner is kept stationary. When the number of sets of copies is a single set, the synchronized exposure mode is automatically selected regardless of the input result of a mode key which manually sets the exposure mode. The apparatus comprises a document feeder and a double feed prevention device operating by means of a sheet sensor for feeding a following sheet only when passage of a preceding sheet is detected.

摘要： A document feeder for use in a copy machine includes a gate plate disposed between a document sheet stacker and a sheet separator for separating a sheet from the bottom of a stack of document sheets. The gate plate is adapted to be lifted to regulate the passage of the stack of document sheets so that when the gate plate is lowered, the leading edges of the document sheets in the stack come in contact with the gate plate, whereby the leading edges of the documents are aligned, and while the gate plate is lifted upwardly, the stack of document sheets passes under the gate plate. The document feeder further includes a sheet edge-regulator attached to the gate plate so that when the gate plate is lifted upwardly, the sheet edge-regulator is moved adjacent the upper surface of the stack of document sheets and regulates the leading edge of the stack of document sheets so as to pass under the gate plate.

摘要： An automatic sheet feeding apparatus for feeding sheets on a stacker one by one, includes a separation device having a sheet convey member for conveying a separated sheet and a double feed prevention member which is brought into tight contact with or separated from the convey member, and a sheet stop member for preventing movement of nonseparated sheets along a convey direction. When the separation device is in tight contact with the sheet during a separation operation, the sheet stop member is located in a first position where the sheet stop member does not prevent the separation operation. When the separation device is released and the sheet is conveyed, the sheet stop member is moved to a second position where the sheet stop member abuts against leading ends of sheets except for a sheet to be fed, thereby preventing movement of the sheets except for the sheet to be fed.
