    Abstract: A method and a system are provided for large-scale behavioral targeting for advertising over a network, such as the Internet. In one example, the system receives training data that is processed raw data of user behavior. The system generates selected features by performing feature selection on the training data. The system generates feature vectors from the selected features. The system initializes weights of a behavioral targeting model by scanning the feature vectors once. The system then updates the weights of the behavioral targeting model by scanning iteratively the feature vectors using a multiplicative recurrence.

    Abstract: A method for transmitting packets in a wireless communication network includes taking into consideration an antenna mode prior to transmission. The method includes determining a transmit antenna mode for a transmission between the node and at least one other node; when the transmit antenna mode is omni-directional, broadcasting a transmission schedule for the transmission omni-directionally; and when the transmit antenna is beamforming directional, broadcasting a transmission schedule for the transmission directionally on one or more transmitter beams. The method optionally can also take into consideration an antenna mode of a receive antenna between the node.

    Abstract: A method of communicating within a mesh network comprises scheduling a mesh access reservation time period for transmission of one or more frames by the mesh device on a channel. During the scheduled mesh access reservation time period: contention for the channel is performed with one or more other mesh devices in the network; and at least one frame is transmitted when the mesh device wins the contention. After the scheduled mesh access reservation time period: when one or more frames scheduled for transmission during the scheduled mesh access reservation time period remain to be transmitted; contention for the channel continues; and the one or more frames are transmitted when the mesh device wins the contention for the channel and when another mesh device has not reserved the channel for the time period.
